Installation of parapets on the foundation of the fence, how to independently carry out the installation, stages of work
When choosing the type of formwork, I gave preference to a non-removable structure, for which I purchased sections of the eurofence that have the same texture as the fence around the perimeter of the site.
To give it a complete look, as well as to protect the cured cement mortar from seasonal precipitation, I decided to install concrete parapets on the surface.
I carried out all the work on my own, inviting a helper to help, who helped to lift and display heavy items.
The parapet installation process involved several stages:
Before proceeding with the installation of decorative concrete structures, I installed the formwork, filled all its cavities with concrete mortar, into which I added a bottle to strengthen it. The cement mortar hardened for 2-3 days, after which I proceeded to the next stage - painting the support pillars.
- After painting all the metal elements, I started to do the markings. My task was to cut holes in the parapets in order to bring concrete products behind the posts, while maintaining a beautiful appearance and solidity.
- When trimming the parapets, I used a grinder, since the other tool is not able to cope with concrete slabs, which contain fine gravel.
- To fix the parapets securely on the surface of the formwork, I used a special adhesive mixture intended for outdoor use.
I laid each parapet along one line, after pulling the thread. After installation, I checked the correct position by means of a building level.
- At the final stage, I had to cover up all the seams that formed at the junction of the parapets, as well as in the places where the concrete products touched the support pillars.
