How to independently lay metal tiles around the chimney, stages of work, important nuances
During the laying of the roofing material, I paid great attention to the chimney area, since incorrectly performed work would lead to serious problems.
The main task was to ensure the absolute waterproofness of this area, as well as to create a complete cladding covering.
Since the process of bypassing the chimney has a number of nuances, I spent a lot of time taking measurements in order to minimize the risks of damage to expensive materials.
When carrying out the work, I took into account the following nuances:
- Before laying the apron, I filled in the insulation material, waterproofing, stuffed an additional crate near the chimney, after which I put additional layers of metal tile on it.
- Performed high-quality sealing of all joints using a special mixture - silicone.
- On the slopes, he installed a waterproofing gutter designed to drain moisture (condensate).
- Before laying the sheets of metal tiles, I trimmed them, and processed all the cut lines with paint to match the facing material.
- After laying the metal tile, he completed the installation of the outer part of the apron, which performs a decorative function. The installed clamp will ensure tightness at the joints of the pipe and apron.
I carried out all the work in compliance with construction technologies, thanks to which I was able to ensure the waterproofing of the roof section near the chimney, timely drainage of moisture and condensate.
Due to this, in the thermal insulation laid under the crate, there will be no rotting processes, mold formation, deterioration of air circulation, wooden elements of the rafter system will retain their specifications.
