My best food for the Money Tree in winter. It costs a penny, and the result is impressive
The money tree is in principle an unpretentious plant, however, in the winter months it can be a lot of hassle if not properly cared for.
And guided by my own experience, I want to say that the main thing in caring for him is competent feeding! Personally, I used to cook it according to one recipe, simple, cheap and terribly effective!
Its preparation begins with an infusion of eggshells - I pour 1 glass of broken shells with 2 glasses of boiling water and leave it for 1 week.
In addition to the well-known calcium, which trees and shrubs need for a strong trunk and twigs, no less than calcium is necessary for a person for strong bones; in the eggshell there are a lot of other micro- and macro-elements. Which, in particular, reduce the risks of fungal diseases of the root system of the money tree.
After the specified period, that is, after a week, the infusion obtained from the shell must be drained and the following ingredients added to it:
1 teaspoon of wood ash;
1 teaspoon lemon, lime or orange zest.
Wood ash is needed for the plant's strong immunity, and thanks to it, the money tree will quickly recover from an attack of pests, if such a nuisance happens.
As for the lemon zest, in the long run it has a positive effect on the flowering of the money tree, which, as you know, is generally not easy to achieve.
For young plants, I recommend diluting the prepared mixture with water in proportions 1: 1, and for adults, you can use it as is. In the second case, the specified amount of feeding is enough not even for one plant, but immediately for 4-5.
Thanks to this simple, but still, you must agree - an amazing feeding, my money tree spends the winter strong, with shiny, fleshy green leaves, is not susceptible to disease!
In conclusion, I want to add that the money tree should be fed during the period when it was not pruned and in no case in the first 3 weeks after transplanting into a new pot!
After watering the soil with top dressing, it should be gently loosened, thus improving the "breathing" of the root system, which is responsible for the delivery of nutrients to the entire plant.
Should you apply top dressing in the morning or in the evening? In my opinion, there is no difference here! And you can also just pour it out, not combining with the usual regular watering.
