When you need to quickly heat up a small room, a small but powerful fan heater will help out
In our unstable country, surprises can be expected from any public service: today tree branches fell on the wires, tomorrow the heating main was torn, the day after tomorrow the gas was cut off. And worst of all, if this happens during the heating season. Not in all cases, but very often a household electric heater will come to the rescue, which is desirable to have in a closet, just in case.
What type of heater is the most optimal
I happened to use various types of electric heaters, and they all had their disadvantages:
1. Self-made ("goats") are very fire hazardous.
2. Spiral (old Soviet) - also dangerous during operation due to the presence of open incandescent spirals, or closed with glass tubes.
3. Oil-based ones are expensive and slow to heat up.
4. Fan heaters - have one obvious drawback, increased noise during operation.
Maybe someone will suggest other options, but I made this list based only on my own experience.
Why is a fan heater attractive?
Those who have not lived in a student hostel find it difficult to understand the struggle for comfort, which implied warmth in the room. And the required temperature was achieved only due to the presence of additional heating devices, among which fan heaters were very popular. After all, these "wind turbines" had a number of undeniable advantages:
1. Cheap.
2. Small.
3. Light.
4. Powerful.
5. Safe.
6. Simple and easy to use.
7. Has several modes of operation.
8. Thanks to the powerful flow of warm air, it quickly heats the entire volume of the room.
9. In the summer heat, it can be used as a fan.
And all these positive qualities are the best fit in order to acquire it just for so that he lay in the closet and did not ask for bread, and, if necessary, create coziness and comfort in the apartment.
Precautions when using the fan heater
A household fan heater is a household heater because it is intended for use at home without any special precautions. But you still need to use it wisely:
1. Its maximum power is 2 kW, which means that the current strength will be about 9 A. That is, it is necessary to have not only sockets with ceramic socles and a permissible current strength higher than the indicated one, for example, 12 A, but also the wiring of the room must withstand such a load.
2. If used constantly, then the electricity bills can be an unpleasant surprise.
3. One such wind blower is capable of handling only a small room, 10 -15 m².
4. If you use several fan heaters at the same time, then trouble can happen, the wiring will not withstand or the protection of the electrical network (plugs, machines, etc.) will knock out.
5. Due to the high power, such a device cannot be connected using a conventional extension cord.
Despite these precautions and limitations, a fan heater is a cool thing if the electricity is “free” (like in a hostel).
