We stimulate flowering in indoor plants in winter. The best ways in my opinion
At home, we grow indoor plants that come from different climatic conditions. Therefore, do not be surprised that there may be problems with flowering during certain times of the year.
This is the norm. But for every grower, the flowering of indoor flowers is a reward. Everyone wants them to bloom and delight all year round.
I have tried many ways to stimulate the flowering of plants in the winter season, and I will share my experience with you.
Flow stimulation methods
To induce flowering in plants, you need to "wake up" them, they must feel uncomfortable. When the plants are comfortable with what we create for them in the apartment, they do not feel the need to reproduce.
Therefore, in order to stimulate flowering, you need to create discomfort for them.
The best and most effective ways are as follows:
· Plants bloom to reproduce. The plant perceives a decrease in temperature as harsh and dangerous conditions for growth, and begins to bloom for procreation. Therefore, it is necessary to create temperature differences. If you can reduce the temperature to +15 C at night, this will contribute to the formation of buds and flowering;
If a low temperature of up to +10 C is created on the veranda or loggia, so you can stimulate the flowering of orchids and cacti;
· For bulbous plants to bloom, they need cold and drought. After flowering, you need to limit watering and place them in a cold place. Then cyclamens and amaryllis will come out of hibernation and bloom again;
· Lighting has a significant effect on the flowering process. The amount of light and its intensity directly affects flowering.
For example, if you organize a place with low light for flowers such as azalea, primrose, cyclamen, then they will begin to form buds. Such plants do not need additional lighting.
And if they stand in a room where the lighting is for a long time, then in the evening they must be covered with a dark cap or put in a closet;
· For plants blooming in summer - gloxinia, stephanotis, pelargonium, saintpaulia, in winter it is necessary to provide additional artificial lighting. Long daylight hours will guarantee the appearance of flowering.
It is important to remember that each plant is unique. This means that some of them require certain conditions for flowering.
I have shared with you the most common factors that will contribute to the flowering of your favorite plants in the winter season.
