Do the leaves of the money tree often become soft and lethargic? I tell you how to help the plant in a simple way

Foliage condition is one of the main indicators of plant health. If on the bastard (money tree) they droop and become soft, this means that the flower needs urgent help.

This usually happens for several reasons:

· Lack of moisture in the soil or air (very rare);

· Excessive watering;

· Unsuitable substrate;

· Watering with cold water;

Freezing the entire plant (if cold air gets on it from the window);

· Careless transplantation, when the roots are severely injured;

· Damage by harmful insects.

If I find that the juicy and shiny leaves of the jersey have become lethargic, I urgently examine the plant and check the moisture content of the soil. In my experience, the most common cause of withering of a money tree is improper watering and soil that is not loose enough for a succulent.

In moist and dense soil, the roots suffocate and die off, ceasing to feed the plant. The first sign of such withering away is the loss of juiciness in the leaves.

You can eliminate these reasons and forget about the withering of the fat woman by planting it in the correct soil. I mix equal parts garden soil, sand and perlite. At the bottom of the pot, I definitely put small pebbles, in a layer of 1 cm.

Important! I must fry the earth and sand in the oven at 170 degrees for about half an hour. This is necessary for the destruction of spores of fungi and eggs of harmful insects.

In such a loose substrate, the roots of the money tree feel at ease, excess water from irrigation freely leaves the pot into the pan. The possibility of root decay is excluded.

When replanting a plant, I carefully examine the roots. If the tips are brown at the break, they are soft and slippery, the affected parts must be removed. It is useful to keep healthy roots and the plant itself in a solution of Fitosporin or potassium permanganate for 20 minutes.

In the event of a large-scale defeat, I do not waste time and just update the bush by rooting several cuttings from it.

I water the fat woman only with water at room temperature, no more than 1 time per week and be sure to drain the excess water from the pan. In winter, when the succulent is at rest, I water it 1-2 times a month.
