We cut, glue and decorate! 5 unusual toys for your tree
New Year is getting closer. And there are more and more worries with its celebration... But, no matter how prosaic it may sound: “in the hustle and bustle of a big and not so big city, you just need to stop for a minute and feel the moment. This sweet (according to childhood memories) moment of anticipation of the holiday ”. Probably, like for many, for me these moments from childhood are the most vivid childhood memories. I remember my grandfather’s big house, I remember the crowd of aunts busy with the preparation of the New Year’s table and I remember the crowd of children (us). We had an honorable mission - we were responsible for the New Year's decor! We cut, glued, then cut again and glued again, then painted and hung. It was a wonderful time! And now…
Good afternoon dear friends!
Having already "decently" matured, having got my own family, I somehow realized that I had lost this fabulous holiday atmosphere, this special New Year's fairy tale. Of course, we prepare gifts, decorate the Christmas tree, gather guests for the New Year's feast... But the feeling is different. I myself did not expect that this post about homemade Christmas toys and garlands would turn out so personal and touching for me. Recently, having acquired our own home, my wife and I have renewed this New Year's Eve tradition - to gather the family together and create a holiday with our own hands! For this New Year we have selected the following 5 DIY ideas for decorating a Christmas tree that I would like to share with you.
I'll be honest! I didn’t even expect that such an unpretentious tradition - making New Year's decorations - would take root in my family.
1.Soft Christmas tree toys. Do your kids love soft toys like mine? If yes! Then invite them to make decorations with their own hands on a Christmas tree made of felt, fleece or plush. Moreover, winter is the ideal time for such "warm" materials. For example, felt can make excellent Christmas balls for your beautiful Christmas tree. In this case, much is not necessary! It is enough to cut out only a few circles from the fabric and connect them with threads or glue. AND VOIL, a unique piece of jewelry with stylish notes is ready!
Do you want balls? No problem! Make homemade mushrooms, bumps, leaves, or Christmas trees. They are also not difficult to make, but they are great for New Year's surroundings.
2.Cotton flowers. Have you ever seen how cotton blooms? No? It is something! Its flowers are snow-white and fluffy, somewhat reminiscent of snow. But, unfortunately, the real ones are quite difficult to get, but the artificial ones - NO! All you need is cotton wool, brown wrapping paper, a few small twigs, and glue. ALL!
By the way, such a natural decor will look great not only between the fir paws of your New Year's beauty, but also, for example, in a vase on the table. Because it will make it more atmospheric, fashionable and festive.
3.Coniferous cones and orange. When decorating a New Year's beauty, many for some reason forget about this escape! But in vain! After all, pine, spruce, cedar... the cone is a wonderful basis for many decorations and crafts. And don't worry that you can't do it! Since making such a decoration for a coniferous tree is as easy as shelling pears! All you need to do is paint the dry bud with white, silver or gold paint and attach a string to it. And that's it!
And to complete the natural exposure of your tree, I suggest adding orange slices to it! But not fresh, but oven-dried at a low temperature! So your beauty will not only shine with her natural beauty, but also exude a sweet intoxicating aroma.
4.Garland of pompons. Agree?! What is the New Year without a bright multi-colored garland? Yes, no, you say! And I completely agree with you. And if it's easy enough to find an electric one, then it's extremely difficult to find a unique, warm and cozy garland of pompons. And why? If you can make it yourself.
You just need to buy skeins of wool of any color, a long ribbon or braid, and then for 6 simple steps (there are a lot of examples on the Internet) to make pompons, from which later you get a unique soft garland.
5.Woolen brushes. How do you go about adding a bohemian, extremely fashionable and interesting decorative touch to your tree with a wool tassel? Positively?! Super! Then prepare yarn, cardboard and glue. And then everything is simple. Wrap the yarn on cardboard, tie the last long section into a knot, take out the cardboard, tighten the knot tight, and voila, the tassel is ready.
Want to diversify your decorative element? No problem! Use beads, beads, rhinestones, wooden balls, etc. when making tassels. This will help you create a truly exclusive accessory, which will be difficult to find anywhere else!
And don't forget! New Year is still a family holiday, which means that everyone should prepare for it together!
