People often complain of headaches. The solution to the problem is seen in only one thing - the use of pain pills or antispasmodics. But do not rush with medicines, they are not always useful.
I recently learned that headaches can be treated with food. So I always go to the kitchen and look into the closet or refrigerator. After all, food not only gives the body the necessary amount of energy, but also helps to get rid of headaches.
What pain will food help
It should be noted that there are many different reasons for a headache. And food will not always help here. In some cases, it is worth contacting a doctor, undergoing examination. Specialists prescribe medication.
I do not suffer from blood pressure, but my head sometimes hurts. I rarely resort to medicines and I do not advise you to be too zealous with medicines. Self-medication will only make the situation worse.
So, here are my assistants who relieve me of headaches, what substances are needed by the body.
Magnesium
This trace mineral helps with constricted blood vessels. It has a relaxing effect on them, improves blood circulation.
It is not necessary to get Drotaverin, you can get by with some products:
- cashews and pine nuts;
- almonds and sunflower seeds;
- dried apricots and bananas;
- avocado and brown rice.
Potassium
A lack of potassium can also trigger headaches due to dehydration. Therefore, each person can provide first aid to himself if he drinks a sufficient amount of fluids and consumes foods high in potassium.
Perfectly helps relieve pain baked potatoes right in the skin. Two veggies in their uniform can help relieve hangover pain. I usually eat a large orange for a headache and drink a lot of water.
Black tea with sugar
I have a special relationship with sweet tea. I prefer this drink to coffee. A small amount of sugar in strong tea will save you headaches. The attending physician advised me to do this. He said that thanks to the sugar, Kakhetian is released from the tea leaves. It acts as an analgesic. Moreover, this substance also has antimicrobial effects.
So now I most often pour hot black tea, dissolve 3 teaspoons of sugar in a glass and drink. After a while, the headache goes away.
Calcium
Sometimes it seems that the pain is not inside the skull, but the entire surface of the head, without exception. This is the so-called muscle spasm. The head begins to ache even with the slightest movement. I understand that my body lacks calcium, and I go to the kitchen to refuel with calcium. I always have fresh cottage cheese, yoghurts or fermented baked milk in my fridge.
I also remember to use calcium tablets. They were recommended to me during menopause.
What do I recommend specifically for women
Women are more likely to suffer from headaches. But not only due to a lack of trace elements or during critical days. Migraines can be caused by a drop in estrogen levels. In this case, I advise you to contact a specialist, since self-medication will not help, but will only make it worse.
The doctor advised me not to wait for the decrease in estrogen levels, but as a preventive measure, stock up on foods that contain essential fatty acids and vitamin E:
- flax and sesame seeds;
- soybeans and beans;
- salmon and olive oil.
I also constantly eat fresh apples, dried apricots and prunes.
