I make strong clamps from plastic bottles for attaching water pipes to the wall so as not to bend
It so happened that the old pipes fell into disrepair, and in order to avoid flooding, my neighbors and I agreed to replace the pipes and put plastic ones on a common riser.
However, no one thought that another problem would arise. Plastic pipes on the hot water riser began to bend. Even pipes with metal reinforcement cannot withstand. At temperatures above 95 degrees, the pipe can lead.
Causes
Pipes bend and even crack not only from high temperatures. Much depends on the quality of the pipes themselves.
1. The reason may be the renovation carried out by the neighbors. Often people don't change risers together (they can't agree). For example, one neighbor (from above) begins to change pipes (connect through a coupling), to solder, and from a neighbor (from below) the pipes begin to bend.
2. Another reason may be the boiler from the neighbors below. More precisely, they do not use it correctly, and you have problems. It would be nice to talk to the neighbors, find out what temperature the boiler is set to.
3. If there is not enough fastening, then bending, the pipe with a clamp can pull out from the wall.
The bad thing is that it pulls out some of the plaster or tile. A big problem arises when ripping off flanges or soldering.
The distance between the mounts is a major factor. The step is determined taking into account the pipe diameter and temperature.
Homemade fasteners from a plastic bottle
For fixing, clamps or clips are bought. I decided to make homemade pipe clips from a plastic bottle. The fastening is not a little worse. I will tell you in detail how I make clips.
I remove the bezel.
Using a hacksaw, I cut off the neck of a 5 liter plastic bottle. Depending on the diameter, it can be made from a 1.5 liter container or a milk bottle.
I trim the edges with sandpaper. Cut off the neck with pliers anywhere.
And with the help of pliers, bend the edges on 2 sides. In this case, you need to focus on the diameter of the pipe.
Then you need to make small holes with an awl.
Then fix the pipes to the wall using self-tapping screws and a screwdriver.
Such an attachment (in several places) grabs the pipe itself and prevents it from bending.
Good luck to everyone in business!
