Two types of fat
The endocrinologist explained that today scientists know a lot about only two main types of fat. White-yellow fat provokes metabolic disorders, activates metabolic syndrome and contributes to poor health.
Data on brown fat suggest otherwise. It helps a person in heat exchange and protects from the cold. In infancy, there is a lot of brown fat on the body. As a person grows up, the amount of brown fat decreases significantly. It is located around the vessels, the spine, around the shoulder blades and around the heart.
A significant amount of this fat is noted in athletes, especially those who are involved in winter sports, and also swim in cold water. This is due to the increased need of the body for thermoregulation and the build-up of healthy fat occurs.
Brown fat has a red tint, which is created by the presence of mitochondria, which actively supply energy to human cells. Inside the mitochondria, like in a power station, free fats and carbohydrates are burned by oxidation. This is how the energy potential is created. It is this reason, according to the endocrinologist, that helps the body to effectively lose weight.
It is important to reduce to a minimum the proportion of white fat and by walking in the cool season, swimming, hardening, to initiate the activity of mitochondria and an increase in brown fat. The emergence of the body's need for heat exchange, will increase the supply of energy, will contribute to the build-up of the correct fat.
