We installed a timer with a temperature sensor in the cellar: now the vegetables will not freeze
Many cellar owners do not immediately find the optimal temperature and humidity conditions in their storage facilities, so it often happens that vegetables that are stored in a burial pit grow and wither. And it happens that on the contrary, they freeze. We were very afraid of this.
A cellar was built in the new house even before they started living there. Therefore, the heating was not turned on anywhere, and we were very afraid that vegetables on harsh nights, when the temperature dropped below 20 degrees, could simply freeze. And taking them out to the city is an extra hassle. After all, in the spring they were going to live in a new building.
In order to prevent freezing of the harvest in the burial pit, the husband installed a temperature sensor in the cellar, which turned on the electric heater if the temperature dropped below 2 degrees. And when it rose higher, the heater was turned off.
This saved us from all worries and worries about the safety of vegetables. The cellar, of course, was rather damp, because the ground under the house had not yet dried out, and the floor in the basement had not been flooded or waterproofed.
Honestly, she's gone now. Therefore, with the approach of cold weather, the husband again installed a heater with a sensor in the cellar.
The humidity now, it should be noted, is quite low, it is easy and comfortable to breathe in our storage, because two ventilation holes perfectly cope with the air flow.
The principle of operation of this device is that the temperature value is recorded a specialized sensor, these readings are analyzed by the microcontroller and sends a signal to electronic switch.
For those who at least a little like to deal with technology, it is not at all difficult to assemble such a device. And for everyone else, ready-made electronic switches with a sensor are available for sale. We have this one in the chicken coop, only it is tuned to the time, not the temperature.
