For a long time I chose the most spacious refrigerator: which one I bought in the end and why I stopped on the side-by-side

After visiting several hypermarkets for home appliances and examining the length and breadth of the range of online stores in search of the most capacious refrigerator, I decided to buy LG GC-B247JMUV. I have been using it together with my large family for a year and a half. During the operation, it showed itself ambiguously, both "pluses" and "minuses" appeared.

I've been looking for side-by-side models for a long time - they are stylish and roomy. Prices for similar models of proven brands started from thousands of dollars at the exchange rate for that period. Our LG got about 70 thousand rubles for the action.

What did not like

Despite the fact that the width of the LG GC-B247JMUV is 91 cm, the doors are massive (10 cm thick) and the door baskets are quite deep. Therefore, for comfortable access to the contents of the refrigerator, you need to open the door all the way. This must be taken into account when planning its placement in the kitchen.

The freezer is large enough (219 liters net), but in order to use all the space on the shelves, the food has to be stacked in a mountain. Shelf size: width - 31 cm, depth - 28 cm. The height between them is 25 cm. Finding and getting something from underneath is a whole quest that you go through with the door open to the freezer compartment. I see the way out here by purchasing large containers that will act as familiar and convenient boxes.

The main surprise was the easily scratched coating. Even ordinary magnets leave traces. Another "bonus" is fingerprints, which are highly visible, especially if sunlight is falling. All the beauty and zest of the metallic luster of the refrigerator vanishes as soon as children are given access. My patience lasted for six months. And one day, finding another scratch and prints on the door, with a slight movement of her hand, she scratched the entire refrigerator with a washcloth for washing dishes. Now, small scuffs and traces of children's fingers are practically invisible.

What is thought out and convenient

The refrigerator looks very stylish. Despite its large dimensions, it is not bulky. Fits perfectly into a modern interior.

The No Frost and Multi Air Flow cooling system chills food quickly and evenly without overdrying or frosting.

Refrigerating chamber capacity - 394 net liters. The shelves are 37 cm deep and 45 cm wide. This is more than enough for a family of 4-5 people.

The door baskets are deep. The set includes an egg tray and an ice tray.

The drawers are spacious and comfortable. The lid rises when opened.

The height of the refrigerator is 179 centimeters - it is comfortable to use for both me (167 cm) and my husband (186 cm). Children also love that they can get both yogurt and ice cream on their own. This is a huge plus for me, because most spacious models with a bottom or top freezer compartment are 2+ meters high. Accordingly, the upper part is difficult to access and inconvenient to use for people below 160 centimeters.

LED backlight - bright, comfortable for the eyes. It is located vertically and well illuminates the entire interior space.

The sound produced when the door is opened for a long time does not irritate the hearing.

There is a convenient control panel on the facade, where you can view and adjust the temperature, block the doors from children.

Glass shelves are stable, durable.

The noise of the compressor is almost imperceptible and does not cause discomfort. Over time, you don't hear him at all.
