"We are selling the dacha"
This year I changed the fence separating our site from the alley. And you know, I immediately felt myself in the center of events: only the lazy one did not give advice on how I should drill holes and how to concrete pillars. But this is not about that, but about a conversation between two neighbors, which I managed to overhear.
There is a young guy (about 30 years old) and his neighbor (about 60 years old). Two different generations - two different views of the earth.
The guy says: "We are selling the dacha."
The eyes of the neighbor slowly but surely rise up and are about to overcome the barrier in the form of a narrow strip of eyebrows and reach the bangs - You don't want to work! You are lazy! - the neighbor answers.
I almost choked with surprise. What can we say about the guy who said this. Further more.
What struck me the most was the neighbor's way of thinking, not even her tactlessness. For her, and in general for the entire generation of "those who are over sixty", the dacha is like
manna from heaven. Many worked for a long time before they received it, and now they will not part with their piece of land for any price. And young people are arranged differently: the boy-neighbor pulls two children, the wife is on maternity leave, pays the mortgage, works two jobs. He has no time to deal with the dacha: he has neither strength nor time left. Therefore, young people easily part with everything that pulls a pocket and is a burden.
In his case, this is a suburban area. Yes, within the city limits, but an excellent view of the river, but I repeat, there is no time to do it, and not with hands.
For a neighbor, the mortgage is not an excuse, her position is as simple as a rake: be lazy - you don’t want to work on the land. And that's it.
I think that building a fairy tale on your own plot is, of course, a good idea. But only when it does not harm daily life and health. Everything is good in moderation, and young people are right: old people revel in the country, and then complain about their health.
