How to create a vegetable garden from scratch when moving to a new country house and stock a cellar with crops. Sharing our experience

I have always loved the land, plants, rural life. But it so happened that we lived in a city apartment on the 12th floor. The only thing that was available to me was indoor flowers. But 3 years ago, everything changed. For health reasons, my husband had to leave his job, and we decided to move out of town. There were fears whether it would work out, whether we could pull it, but everything turned out very well. We inherited the house from our great-grandfather.

When I first hit the ground, there was no stopping me, I was planting everything I could. She worked in the garden beds from morning until sunset, and at the same time did not get tired at all! The sun, air, chirping birds, beautiful landscapes - everything made me happy. My goal was to grow a big crop to provide a family of 4 with vegetables for the whole year.

Already in the first season we were very pleased with the harvest. How happy we were to work on our land, this is an incomparable feeling. The earth heals.. The earth never cheats.

I am sharing a very convenient way of growing seedlings of garden vegetables, which I use. Its highlight is the germination and further growth of seedlings for the first two weeks in plastic cups on damp paper.

Everything is working out great. I cover the top of the cups with cling film or a regular plastic bag. A favorable microclimate for germination is created inside the cup.

After the young plants are carefully removed from the cups, their roots grow slightly into the layers of toilet paper (you need to act carefully).

I plant them in plastic glasses or pots filled with fertile soil. I cover it with plastic wrap for a while. Then, when the seating gets stronger, I remove the film.

Before planting seedlings in the ground, I process the roots with a Bordeaux mixture.

If your choice fell on a tall variety of tomatoes, then the distance between the bushes should not be less than half a meter.

Humus, a small amount of wood ash and fertilizer are integral attributes in the holes. Tomatoes can be planted in the ground and directly with seeds.

How I plant seedlings

I wait until the ground is thoroughly warmed up, I make holes and first of all I put there the manure, which has peppered, and quite a bit of fertilizer.

I fill the holes with water, and after the earth has absorbed it, I put the seeds, not forgetting to sprinkle them with earth, and cover each hole with burdock leaves.

It is best to put not one, but several seeds in each hole. This will ensure the best seed germination.

In order to get a truly rich harvest, I do not forget about regular feeding of plants.

For the first time, I feed it ten days after I planted the seedlings in the ground.

To do this, you need to take chicken manure (it is not necessary to collect, you can buy it in special stores), pick weeds and mix these components in a ratio of 10/1 (the first number is weeds, the second manure).

Tomatoes, peppers, eggplants, I always stepchild, leaving no more than two stems.

Put my advice into practice and you are guaranteed to get a rich harvest!
