The main "winter" minus of the strip foundation, and how I eliminated it

I think I will not be mistaken if I say that the strip foundation and its varieties are the most popular type of foundation in Russia. At least during my construction practice, most often in country houses and dachas, I met exactly "Tape".

With its main advantage in the form of the low cost of construction, the strip foundation has one, but very significant disadvantage - not taking into account the columnar, this is the coldest type of foundation. In the MZFL, not only the soil under the foundation freezes, but also the concrete thickness itself.

The heat loss is colossal. In order not to be unfounded:

Knowing perfectly well that due to the peculiarities of the foundation of my house (and its perimeter is no less than 44 meters) I lose 10-15% of the heat, I solved the problem radically.

From previous articles, I see that people always very sharply perceive such "controversial" initiatives, and even more I am skeptical about the data I cite: graphs from temperature sensors, the amount of consumed kWh of energy and etc.

Therefore, I will limit myself to stating an objective fact: due to the fact that the ground in the underground is now isolated, and the screed is poured from above, we can walk barefoot on the floor. And as the last week showed, even at -30 degrees.

I confess that I wrote this article for those people whose houses were built exactly on a strip foundation, and who are cold barefoot on the floor. Especially the inhabitants of wooden houses will understand me. So, the way is working, the house has become warmer, the eternal drafts are gone and the floor has become warmer.
