Potato varieties that have some advantages, there are practically no disadvantages. I advise everyone to plant only them

The popular vegetable potato does not require such a large investment of time and effort from the gardener, but only on condition that a good variety is chosen for planting. And there are about 4000 of them in the world!

There is something to be confused about... But I, guided by personal experience, have finally determined which of them are the best for our latitudes and now I advise everyone to grow only these five!

Ariel

One of the earliest varieties! Each hundred square meters brings 220-490 kg of potatoes. The spread is so great, because it depends on the soil - on light and fertile soil, the yield increases, on loam, it decreases. Each bush yields up to 15 tubers.

Ariel practically does not require fertilizers - it is enough to put a little compost into the hole when planting. I also want to note that this variety practically does not require hilling and is resistant to such a dangerous potato disease as mosaic.

Bellarosa

Young potatoes of this variety can be dug in already 45 days after germination, and full ripening occurs in just 70-80 days.

From 1 weave, you can collect up to 385 kg. One of those rare varieties that are practically not afraid of the Colorado potato beetle!

Giant

From 1 hundred square meters you can collect up to 613 kg, but for my taste, this is not the most valuable thing in it. A soft creamy, surprisingly tasty pulp with a high content of starchy substances - almost 19%.

Perfect mashed potatoes! But when growing this variety, it is important to take into account the nuance - it is picky about watering at the beginning of the growing season.

Vineta

Numerous reviews have confirmed that it can be planted very early and that the variety is suitable even for very harsh climates. Plus, it is drought tolerant in hot summers. Tubers are light yellow outside and inside, small - weighing only 67-95 g.

The cultivar demonstrates high resistance to foliage curling and nematodes. The yield from 1 weave is 160-238 kg. Fertilizers for this variety should not contain too much nitrogen, otherwise their keeping quality will deteriorate.

Gulliver

The variety is surprisingly resistant to all diseases "popular" in potatoes. Stored for a long time. Tubers weigh an average of 120 g, oval, with a thin skin. This root vegetable variety is delicious baked.

In order for the crop to be stored for a long time and remain of high quality, phosphate compounds must be applied as fertilizer 4 weeks before harvesting.
