The best variety of Cucumbers! Planted about 6 years ago
They say that there are over 10,000 varieties of cucumbers in the world, but in my garden there is only one and only one with whom I I "met" on the advice of friends a few years ago and I think that a story about him, based on personal experience, can someone come in handy!
The hybrid variety Siberian garland from the Chelyabinsk breeding station, bred in 2013, differs in many attractive characteristics, and also, which is especially valuable - it is universally good in salads and winter blanks.
The creators also report that this variety does not need pollination - that's a minus one more big concern for the gardener!
Each bush can bring up to 20 kg of greens! And quite early - the first harvest can be harvested as early as 43-45 days from the moment of germination. Fruiting is long - in a temperate climate and with good care, it stretches until October.
Zelentsy are small, 5-8 cm in length, not prone to yellowing and overgrowth. The rind is firm, but not coarse, the pulp is fragrant and juicy, very sweet! A big plus - they are not bitter.
As for the conditions, here, too, the Siberian garland is universal - greenhouses, temporary film shelters, greenhouses and open ground. In the latter case, it is best to place the variety in partial shade. And as the name implies, he is not afraid of cold weather.
The cultivar also demonstrates high resistance to major cucumber diseases, including:
Downy mildew and powdery mildew;
· Olive and brown spotting;
· Cucumber mosaic virus.
Perhaps this seems like a trifle in comparison with other characteristics, but even in appearance this variety is attractive - Zelentsy collected in dense bunches, so that the whole plant really gives the impression of some kind of outlandish garland, or even bushes grapes. Bushes, by the way, are powerful, up to 2 m high and more, not prone to breaking off.
I believe that when talking about any cultivated plant, one should not be silent about its shortcomings. Therefore, here are the disadvantages of the Siberian garland:
1. The cost of seeds is quite high in comparison with other hybrid varieties.
2. Demanding to harvest the ripening crop every 1-2 days, otherwise you will not achieve long and abundant fruiting.
3. Demanding care - in no case should you neglect mulching the soil to preserve moisture in it, and you should also reduce watering during the ripening of the greens so that they do not work out watery.
