We reveal the secrets of the perfect mulch: we prepare a mixture of mixed feed and chicken manure
Mulching is an agricultural technique that improves the physical and chemical properties of the soil. This technique was invented by nature itself. Plants grow in forests and meadows, and the soil is covered under them with dead remnants of the same and other crops.
A good layer of mulch provides food for worms, bacteria and other soil dwellers. They carry out their specific work, making food in the earth available for plants.
What is the use of mulch
· It protects plants from overheating in summer heat;
· Retains moisture in the soil;
· Nourishes cultures.
You don't need to mulch the soil too early in the spring. Because of what the earth will warm up for a long time. The soil should heat up to + 22- + 24 degrees.
Mulch types
The main type of mulch used by gardeners is cut grass. Hay, fallen leaves, needles, cones, straw are also used for these purposes.
It is better to clean the latter for the winter, as mice can start in it. And after the hay, a lot of weeds grow. The needles acidify the soil. How do you choose the perfect mulch so that it doesn't have any flaws?
To process mulch, bacteria need a decent amount of nitrogen, which microorganisms extract from the soil. Therefore, the mulch should be enriched with nitrogen before spreading.
Prepare mulch (a mixture of compound feed, chicken manure with water)
For a bucket of water, you should take 50 grams of chicken manure in granules (2 tbsp. spoons), 6 liters of alfalfa (compound feed) in granules. The mixture must be left for a day. During this time, the granules should turn sour and absorb moisture.
The resulting mass should be distributed over the plant bed. It should not touch the crop stems. The finished mixture is enough for a garden bed 270 cm long and 65-70 cm wide. From above, you can spill with a solution of Fitosporin or Trichodermin.
This mulch does not need to be removed from the garden in the future, since it will mix with the soil and turn into a natural fertilizer.
Try this mulch and see the finished result.
