How to lay an internal sewage system so that pipes do not get clogged: 2 simple tips from a plumber

It is customary to save money on repairs and construction. But it is better to do this only when knowledge allows. For example, not everyone will undertake to mount the heating, but you can hang the sink yourself. It would seem a simple matter: hang a washbasin with a tap and pipe in the pipes - why call a plumber? But it often happens that after a self-made installation, the water does not go well or the sewage system is clogged altogether. Read why this happens and how to avoid it.

Slopes

In the overwhelming majority of cases, sewer pipes of two diameters are used in housing: 50 mm and 110 mm. The first go to the internal wiring, and the second to the toilet and the general conclusion.

When installing these pipes, slopes must be strictly observed! For pipes with a diameter of 50 mm, the optimal slope is 0.03 - this means that the difference will be 3 centimeters per meter of pipe. For a 110 mm pipe, the slope is 0.02 - respectively, the difference is two centimeters per 1 meter of the pipe.

What is it for

The slopes of the sewer pipes were not invented for nothing, but precisely calculated. We can, of course, assume that if you increase the slope, then the water will go away faster. Indeed, it is not only water that gets into the sewer system.

For example, food residues and grease get into the pipes from the kitchen sink and dishwasher; from the bathroom - hair; from the washing machine fabric fibers. If you increase the slope, then the water will go away quickly, and all the insoluble dirt will remain in the pipe. Over time, this will lead to a blockage. Observe slopes!

Corners

Another potential blockage point can be in corners if improperly mounted. When connecting sewer pipes at right angles, use not one 90 degree bend, but two 45 or three 30 degrees. Then the corner will become smoother and dirty water will drain better.
