Not all curtain rods are suitable for curtains with eyelets - do not repeat my mistakes

I really like the curtains on the eyelets. It's beautiful, the curtains fit in even folds, fit neatly.

In addition, the grommet makes it possible to open and slide the curtains without any effort, without loosening the cornice. The cornice seems to be firmly attached. But if you constantly pull the curtains due to the fact that they move with effort, then after a couple of years the mount may fall off.

Therefore, I bought curtains on eyelets in two rooms for a new house. In the kitchen, I have light curtains, they are combined with a roll-up dense curtain, because the kitchen windows face the road.

And in the office, on the contrary, there are thick linen-like curtains, which are combined with light matting tulle. This is a ready-made solution that we spied on in Castorama, where we also bought curtains, wallpaper and decor.

But at first we were seriously mistaken with the cornices. We had good cornices in our apartment, which, of course, are no longer fashionable, but perfectly preserved. And initially they wanted to use them, made bindings, but when they began to put curtains on the crossbar, they realized that it was too thick. And the eyelets, although they are put on a stick, but move with difficulty, and look ugly.

Therefore, I had to buy new curtain rods suitable for eyelets. They are metal, matching the color of the metal of the holes on the curtains. In addition, they are far enough away from the wall, because the folds of the curtains are very deep. And, most importantly, their crossbar is thin; metal rings on it look elegant and stylish.

Accordingly, it was necessary to remove the fasteners from the old cornices. Drill new holes. And in the walls, pristine clean, with glued fresh wallpaper, you drill every hole, as if "alive", it's a pity.

But everything worked out in the best way. The cornices were bought at Leroy Merlin, two rows for 2,000 rubles and one row for 1,500 rubles. They are already more modern, they look, of course, more stylish than the old classic curtain mounts.

Therefore, I want to advise everyone, before buying curtains on eyelets, to think about which curtain rods you will weigh them, so as not to spoil the whole impression of new modern decorations for your windows.
