TOP-7 of the earliest varieties of tomatoes! You need to have time to sow before February 20

Favorite topic - Tomatoes. Despite the "comprehensive and versatile information", you can always find something new.

When I am delighted with something, I really want to share it with you!

I present ultra-early varieties that can be grown without pinching and tying.

According to my observations, we, gardeners, always try to diversify our collections, I am also no exception. Having many varieties, and in 12 years, when I started to collect my collection, I have already accumulated 230 I continue to buy something new every year. And this cannot be stopped, as long as I say "enough" to myself, but no, next season I will plant new items again.

Last summer we had an area of 15 x 7 m covered. It accommodated low-growing, early 400 bushes, which I did not tie or pinch.

How I do it:

  • Spreading black agrofibre
  • pinned to the ground,
  • I make markings, I mark holes with chalk,
  • I make cross-shaped cuts with a sharp clerical knife and plant tomatoes.

I love this method, the weed does not grow, the moisture remains, the tomatoes (fruits) lie on a clean non-woven fabric. I always monitor the state of the planting and regularly pick tomatoes.

This method is suitable for those who cannot devote a lot of time to the garden.

The yields are extremely good! All varieties are undersized, the height does not exceed 50 cm, at first they stand, and then tilt to their side and lie on the fiber.

Ultra-ripe . One of the very first. Height 50 cm. The earliest. Fruit weight 150 gr.

Midshipman . Early, early maturing. Fruits 150 gr. Medium-sized and well leafy, beautiful fruits, hard skin, tasty, very fruitful. By the way, it works well by direct sowing into the ground.

Santa Claus . Super early variety. Undersized, fruits weighing 100 grams. Fleshy fruits. When fully matured, they are orange-red.

Mongolian dwarf . A dwarf, very beautiful bush. Height 30 cm, do not pinch! Fruit weight 150-200 gr.

Paradise candles . Cherry type cocktail. Early, height 50, do not pinch, fruit weight 30 g.

Banana feet . A very prolific variety. Do not pinch, height 1 m, fruit weight 50 g.

I practice growing tall varieties and hybrids with a garter, but without pinching. The dense greenery protects the fruit from sunburn. If these are separate plants, then a large "tree" will grow, reinforced with several supports, and if it is a row, then you will get a gorgeous trellis. This method is especially good for small-fruited varieties and hybrids.

Based on the practice of growing tomatoes, I note that it is very important to select varieties, planting dates, use nets to create shade (in the south), stand density and plant placement schemes. In a word, there can be no one approach in growing tomatoes.
