Review and testing of "Pegas" jigsaw saw blades.
Greetings.
I often saw three-dimensional puzzles, and this is working with thick workpieces (50 mm.) And hard wood. It is preferable to use saws for such work with a fairly aggressive cut and set of teeth.
And in the online store where I usually buy jigsaw files, there was a delay with the files I needed.
I started looking for where else to buy and found similar files on the site rubankov.ru. There are soldPegas jigsaw saws, but the description for them is very short and the pictures for different names are about the same.
An attempt to find reviews of these files was also unsuccessful.
Nevertheless, I decided to buy several samples in order to figure out whether they are suitable for my tasks or not.
I took three packs. Two of the same type - one type has reverse teeth to prevent chipping. And one pack of modified geometry files for aggressive sawing.
The first to test the Skip files - with gaps between the teeth. In appearance, a slight set of teeth is noticeable on the files.
For the test, I used a 47 mm thick ash block. Saw blades # 5 (0.36 * 1.02 * 130mm) are not designed for such thick material, but they give a thin cut and are good for making fairly sharp turns.
When testing, I cut out small loops on the block to make it look like a cylinder.
The files differ slightly in size: the Reverse Skip is slightly thicker and wider ( N5R, 0.45 * 1.15 * 130mm, 12tpi)while Super-Skip is thinner (N5, 0.36 * 1.02 * 130mm, 12.8tp)
According to the results, both types of files performed well. The sawing speed is approximately the same, the cut is clean, smooth, the cylinders are even.
The next type is modified files: Modified Geometry, N5, 0.38 * 0.93 * 130mm, 13.7tpi.
This type of saws saws faster than the previous one, but it is more difficult to control them when cornering, and as a result of cutting the loop, a cone came out, not a cylinder. These files have no set of teeth.
However, when sawing in a straight line or on smooth curves, these saws perform well. the cut surface is smooth.
For clarity, I suggest watch the video clip with file testing.
