I thought that the seedlings lacked nutrients, but it turned out that the problem is in the acidic soil. How to grow strong seedlings

I bought several bags of peat at a wholesale price last fall. At the end of February, as usual, she sowed the peppers.

At first, they grew poorly, and when I put them on the southern windowsill, the leaves began to burn. I dug in the root zone, and found almost no root. Everything was fine with the tomatoes.

The fact is that pepper loves alkaline soil, even more alkaline than tomato. In an acidic environment, phosphorus for root nutrition is poorly absorbed.

The correct roots look like this

Peat can be mixed into home soil, and even more so for peppers.

According to observations, what the root loves:

1. Darkness (bloggers often show black containers in which the seedling and its root develop faster.)

2. Heat (phosphorus is absorbed well). If your house is cool, say 16-17 degrees, it is cold for peppers, and the temperature of the soil is even lower, this is bad for the root.

3. Not acidic soil. Calcium and phosphorus are poorly absorbed from acidic soil.

4. Watering is not frequent, but abundant. Subsequent watering should be done only when the soil is completely dry. The root grows well and the plant grows quickly.

5. Never plant anything in empty soil! The plant always takes nutrients! The best that you can give is one handful of vermicompost (humus, compost) and ash, and cover with compost on top.

6. Deoxidize the soil once every three years with dolomite flour or lime. Just add dolomite for digging.

7. Mulch the soil, keep moisture, loose and protect soil bacteria. Cover the paths with cardboard, the beds with leaves, grass and cleaners. Not aesthetically pleasing, but my eggplants and peppers are very good, and garlic is beyond praise.

8. Plant in beds and ditches. It will be where to water and loosen conveniently!

9. Use potassium monophosphate. 1 s l to 10 l of water. It is not harmful to soil bacteria. A week after planting - 2-3 times per season.

10. And do not cut plants "to zero", the leaves are organs, a lot of healthy leaves - a good, powerful root!

If the plant is sour, then the growth and development of roots slows down, the absorption of nutrients slows down the action of soil bacteria, molybdenum and sulfur, nitrogen and phosphorus are poorly absorbed (this is why the root is not growing).

Gardeners often complain that tomato ovaries dry up and fall off. People bring money to garden shops to buy boric acid, the drug "Ovyaz" and stimulants, without getting any results, they put up with the situation.

Remember, a tomato can feed as many fruits as the root can feed!

The second reason why phosphorus may not be absorbed is cold soil.

Therefore, before planting seedlings, it is advisable to warm up the soil. This is done by simply spreading the film over the bed a week before planting.

And further. Garden soil can acidify due to the introduction of fresh manure and mineral fertilizers (almost all fertilizers are acidic).

High-quality seedlings are the key to a good harvest!
