My choice: which is better and more practical in everyday life, a gas stove with a gas oven or an electric
When the old two-burner stove stopped satisfying the needs of my family, it was my turn to buy a bigger one. Naturally, the choice was made in favor of four burners.
But then another dilemma arose, buy with a gas oven or with an electric one.
Theoretical selection of the type of oven
What to choose if in the store there are two absolutely identical gas stoves next to each other, but with different types of ovens?
The wife, relying on the advice of the mother-in-law (but with only one argument "better") suggested choosing a stove with an electric oven.
I, guided by practice and simplicity, insisted on buying another. And later I regretted it, because I thought like this:
1. Why bring two types of communications (gas and electricity) to one stove?
2. You will either have to redo the wiring, or use an extension cord.
3. The calorie of gas is cheaper than the calorie of electricity.
In short, my arguments turned out to be more "reasoned".
What's in practice?
Although my arguments were weighty, they turned out to be not so convincing in practice, because I still had to connect an outlet to the stove in order to install a kitchen hood.
But one, the most important point, which was hidden under the wife's word "better", showed itself in the process of exploitation. It turned out that gas ovens in most cases have one serious drawback, uneven heating, when one side of the dish is already burning, and the other is, to put it mildly, al dente.
Other qualities of a gas stove
If you do not take into account the oven, then the rest of the gas stove "Greta" proved to be very good:
1. Four burners with different burning power.
2. The presence of the flame control knobs in the "minimum" position. This is very cool, there is no need for "jewelry" actions. It is enough just to turn the handle counterclockwise until it stops, and the flame will barely burn.
3. Height-adjustable legs.
4. The oven has a special ignition hole.
But along with the advantages, significant disadvantages were also discovered:
1. Low oven tightness, which is covered with dust inside.
2. A low wall near the hob does not protect the wall well from splashes.
3. One (of the two) plastic retainer of the lowest compartment broke very quickly.
But if it were not for the uneven heating inside the oven, my wife and I would be happy with this gas stove.
