Unexpected ways of using the newspaper in everyday life, which I learned about not so long ago! 5 practical examples
Relatively recently, I stopped asking the question: "Why am I no longer annoyed by advertising publications in my mailbox?" For I learned that a newspaper can be not just an information "drain" and a subject for lighting a fireplace (barbecue), but also a profitable partner in solving a number of household questions.
Good afternoon dear friends!
As a result, I began to visit departments with periodicals more often and leave them both with a fresh issue and with a discounted “product”. Can you guess why? It's that simple! I discovered the unexpected side of the large circulation. And it's not about a paper flat accordion playing the role of a homemade fly swatter, but about a more interesting and effective use of the newspaper in everyday life.
In general, I will not beat around the bush, but I will introduce you 5 good reasons why you shouldn't get rid of newspapers after reading them for the first time!
1.To prevent odors from spreading in the refrigerator. The newspaper, as it turns out, is an excellent absorber not only of moisture, but also of odors that are so often present in our refrigerators. So, to stop the spread of the "aroma" of vegetables and fruits in the refrigerator, you just need to unfold the newspaper and put it on the bottom of the "vegetable" box. And it will be even better if you cover the walls with it.
By the way, the smell of fresh fish, which "broadcasts" to the entire refrigerator, can also be removed by using a newspaper. You just need to wrap it in a few layers of a multi-print run, and that's it! As a result, you will forget once and for all how this fresh and extremely corrosive smell easily spreads to neighboring products.
2.For ripening vegetables and fruits. I think you have had this more than once that forecasters predict frosts, and tomatoes, for example, are not yet ripe? What can be done in this case! Harvest and place in newspaper boxes at the bottom. Such a base will speed up the ripening process, eliminating spoilage of the product. By the way, fruits such as pears and apples can also be kept in newspaper containers. The only thing is, it is advisable to spread them out so that they do not touch each other. Then the storage process will be more durable.
As a bonus, accept the fact that newspaper ink also repels insects. But they multiply in a vegetable and fruit hearth in a matter of seconds.
3.For fashionable gift wrapping. Of course, the New Year has already passed, but there are birthdays of relatives, numerous professional holidays! Therefore, I propose not to throw out newspapers in vain, but try to use them when decorating gifts, especially since this approach has recently become extremely relevant! For example, a calm, restrained black and white print is perfect for wrapping adult souvenirs, and bright newspaper inserts for wrapping children's surprises.
Or you can go even further and use newspaper bows, ribbons and origami elements ...
4.For storing boots and "enlarging" shoes. Are you familiar with the problem of storing high boots, which always fold in half? Yes! I would like to advise you on a simple but extremely effective solution that can help you in this matter! First, you need to fill the shoes with thick paper for weight. And then put a folded newspaper in a thick roll in the boot. As a result, the boots will take on a natural shape and will not deform during periods of inactivity.
Another problem with newspapers is when the shoes get narrow or the foot widens! So, to cope with this dilemma, you will need to treat the inside of the shoes with a shoe expansion agent, and then stuff it tightly with newspaper and leave it for a couple of hours. All!
5.For washing windows and mirrors. The method, of course, is old, but still effective! So, first, mix a few drops of liquid soap and 10 ml of vinegar. Then apply the resulting product to the surface of the window. Wait a little, and then start wiping it not with your usual microfiber cloth, but with a newspaper.
If the window after the first procedure is still not perfectly clean, repeat the process. As a result - not a single streak and soapy divorce!
