A table in the kitchen - do not rush to buy an expensive one. In a nearby store you will find exactly the same one, only half the price

A country house presupposes a place where the family gathers most often. For now, such a place is the kitchen-dining room. Maybe it will remain the center of the house, or maybe the center will move to the living room, which is still in the finishing stage.

But in the dining room we still have a table that was made in a collective farm construction shop 55 years ago. It was in 1966, when my parents got married, that this table was presented to them for housewarming. By the way, it does not stagger, does not creak, it serves faithfully to this day. All his life he was painted with brown oil paint, renewing from time to time.

Therefore, we are looking for a new table that would replace the old man, and he moved to the summer kitchen, to serve for another 55 years.

But it is very difficult to find something that would correspond in size and shape to our requirements. To be honest, the quality of the tables is so terrible that we were desperate to find a decent item.

But here, in one of the furniture salons, I will say right away, very expensive, they saw approximately what would suit us. The price of such a table is 35 thousand rubles.

This is quite expensive for us, but there is a table nearby, the price of which is 127 thousand rubles.

But such a table with chairs is estimated at 576 thousand rubles. Comments are superfluous.

We didn't feel like buying a white table. But what would correspond to our size, and also did not cause horror when looking at the price tag, turned out to be only in white. Such a table is sold for 25 thousand rubles.

Thus, we settled on a table for 35 thousand rubles. But we also decided to visit the base where they sell furniture at wholesale prices. And there we saw almost the same table, made of the same material and color, which we were just going to buy for 35 thousand rubles. Only here it was estimated at 18 thousand.

Honestly, there were doubts. Still, the quality of the expensive table is better. But still, we decided to save money and bought an inexpensive table. Now we are waiting for delivery and we will solemnly replace the temporary table with a permanent one.

And I'm not at all sure that a modern table will outlive a Soviet colleague.
