Blackleg - who is to blame?

Blackleg is a fungal disease of plants. And usually it affects just young plants. Poor things are weak and cannot yet resist such a threat.

The situation is unwittingly aggravated by the citizens themselves: remember, we always make greenhouses for plants. They are amazingly ideal for all kinds of harmful and beneficial microbes! "All inclusive" style

Less often, because of the black leg, young cuttings disappear, for the same reason. Separated from the mother bush, they have not yet grown roots and have low immunity.

But we have no right not to make a greenhouse. High humidity is needed for the rapid germination of seeds, because the conditions of our houses during the heating season are far from the best environment for the development of a hair-thick sprout.

This means that we must take a different path. Calcining and freezing the soil does not solve the problem - we swam, we know. Well, a friend disinfected the soil, ran it in the microwave. In a week, all the soil will be repopulated with invisible inhabitants. Fortunately, the shop assistant gave me a completely different path, which now I personally consider the only correct one.

"They take in packs": a remedy that really helped my seedlings

6 years ago, I stood at the counter in a gardening shop at the counter with flower seeds. I urgently needed to buy lobelia and petunia so as not to be left with an empty dacha. Because the day before, two-thirds of the seedlings still could not withstand the pressure of blackleg fungus, although they fought heroically.

- Take this! - the seller with a condescending smile handed me 2 bags. - Take it and don’t think it’s not chemistry. You will no longer buy seeds from us in piles: from all fungal diseases! Summer residents take in batches ...

And I saw a remedy with a strange name, more reminiscent of a dermatovenerologist's diagnosis: "Trichoderma veride". So what do you think? I took it without looking - the words of a familiar seller seemed convincing to me.

Arriving home, I learned: this is a biological preparation, which consists of... fungi Trichodérma. Not malicious, but useful:

• Growing up as a colony, they drive out their opponents. Both blackleg fungi and mold are vulnerable to trichoderma.
• Trichoderma recycles organic matter in the soil, and the plants receive an enhanced portion.

Ideal for seedlings, isn't it?

I spilled the soil before sowing and very modestly watered the seedlings immediately after the appearance of 2 true leaves - with a solution of Trichoderma 20 g per 1 liter (leave for an hour), prepared according to the instructions (it may differ from product to product!). The biological product has different names: "Trichoderma veride", "Trichodermin" and "Glyocladin" tablets. But everyone has the same filling - our faithful friend, the defender of seedlings Fungus Trichodérma! It is inexpensive - about 50 rubles.
