From the very beginning, they scared me that it was not concrete, but slurry ...

Yes, just some of you, my dear readers 😁. And since then, I have not missed an opportunity to test my foundation.

The first time was the most exciting. After the fresh foundation stood for the winter under the film and snow, the first thing I wanted to do was to find out if it was possible to put walls on it at all?

And then I did a simple test with a hammer.

What are the results:

• The depth of the chips is small.
• The concrete is ringing.
• The pieces don't fall off ...

What are the conclusions ??? The foundation is normal, you can put the walls!

✅ Of course, from the outside, this approach seems completely idiotic, but suitable for complacency.

Yes, and I didn’t come up with it myself, so there should be some truth in this?

And the house has been standing for two years, so far everything is fine.

But here one more case turned out.

Recently, I wrote about how I insulated the foundation slab from the inside of the house.

And because of the unevenness of the surface, I had to use dowels for fixing the EPS boards.

✔ And to make holes for them in concrete, I had to try very hard ...

• The depth is shallow, about 30 mm.
• At the same time, I "grinded off" three victorious drills.
• And there are 25 pieces of holes, at most ...

How can this concrete be called bad after that?

Again, this is not a method for determining the quality of concrete, but once again, the peace of mind was influenced by 🤗 ...
