How do you clean the curtains in the bathroom? I will tell you my ways to get rid of plaque and pollution
Hello dear subscribers of my channel and for the first time looking for advice!
It's great that Yandex. Zen made available messages to the author of the channel in the header. Since then, readers sometimes send me their advice, comments and suggestions. Sometimes they ask questions - how to cope with a particular problem.
One of these days, a reader asked how to clean the curtains in the bathroom from plaque? Especially if not just limescale has formed (and this problem happens to those who have hard water), but mold has also appeared from dampness in the bathroom.
I will answer the question in detail as far as I can and give my #useful tips for removing plaque from curtains and processing in order to prevent the formation of stubborn dirt.
Let me remind you that my family and I moved to another apartment a couple of years ago. Before that, we also had a problem with humidity in the bathroom, but fortunately, mold did not form, like in the neighbors. It's just that in those years I generally found such a way out - I immediately bought a bunch of the cheapest plastic curtains, which I did not mind throwing out every month. And the problem was solved.
But this option is not an option for me now, if only because it is ugly and still comes out in a year more costly than buying an expensive, beautiful curtain and periodically cleaning it. Therefore, I found ways of laundering for myself, which I will share.
Between the lines, let me insert links to other posts from my channel:

I will explain first about the main method
As often as you see fit or required in accordance with the condition of your bathroom (apartment), work ventilation shafts, I advise you to wash with washing powder, which contains bleach (so as not to separately bother). If the curtain is fabric with impregnation and your washing machine is large, then you can use it in the gentle wash mode. For rinsing, you can literally add a couple of tablespoons of ordinary table salt or a spoonful of vinegar. This will help prevent mold from forming on the curtains. Some people buy vinyl or polyester curtains, which I know can also be washed.
If someone does not fit such a large volume in the washing machine, then you can soak it in the bath itself for an hour and later wipe it with a brush or sponge. When rinsing in the same way as described above.
It is best to dry by hanging it so that the glass water is straightened.
How to remove limescale and prevent future build-up
Sometimes washing powder does not cope with limescale, especially if the curtain is already quite old. But for such cases, I have a way out. The fact is that this method is suitable both for a one-time cleansing from lime, and for preventing the formation of plaque, including rust.
Every time I boil a kettle to remove lime from the inside, I pour this water into a spray bottle and spray the curtains. You can apply it with a sponge, rub it with a hard side. When I clean my apartment and my bathroom once a week, I always clean it this way and there is never any plaque on the curtains.
But if it is already difficult to clean, then do not regret once, after washing and rinsing, soak the curtain with the addition of a citric acid solution. Directly boil 15-20 packs in a saucepan or in a kettle and fill the bath. Let it lie down a little longer, you will see how easy it will be to scrub the lime off the curtain.
