Didn't even think about it! But an experienced craftsman suggested that the radiators should be placed at an angle! I tell you why
Hello! Today I want to talk about something that just struck me to the core. I thought I had mastered the installation of radiators perfectly, but one senior friend surprised me a lot.
He is a real professional and has been working on heating systems for a long time, and I was very lucky to talk to him over a cup of tea. In general, the story is this:
He received an object - a two-storey house with an area of almost three hundred squares with a ceiling height of 3.5 meters. The volume of the room is simply huge. The house has a total of 26 radiators and one and a half kilometers of pipes for underfloor heating.
At the final stage of the installation of the heating system, after laying pipes and finishing, radiators were installed. Oleg Nikolaevich was installing a radiator, and my friend noticed that it was not installed according to the level. But Oleg Nikolaevich, as if nothing had happened, continued the installation. Further, such a dialogue:
- Oleg Nikolaich, why is the radiator pulled up? Is the level lying?
- No, all is fine!
- What is it like?
- I did it on purpose.
- It will not be very nice!
- The slope is imperceptible, but the system will work like a clock.
And Oleg Nikolayevich explained what was the reason.
The corner of the radiator is lifted up where the air vent is installed. And since the line of the radiator and the window sill are not parallel, the angle of inclination of the radiator is not visible. But the air will always tend to a high corner, where the air vent is located.
Why are only some radiators installed with a slope?
Today there are two types of air vents: mechanical and automatic. And if the air has nowhere to move, and it cannot be automatically removed, the radiator is tilted away from the mechanical air vent, and it is removed through the Mayevsky tap. It all depends on the location of the battery.
If the system is built in such a way that the water flow effectively propels air bubbles, then it will easily leave the radiator in a horizontal system without a slope.
But with an inclined system for the location of radiators, the air will collect itself near the Mayevsky tap, and automatically be removed from the heating system.
In this diagram, air collects only at the highest point, and has nowhere else to move. Yes, in this way it is not at all necessary to install a radiator, but this is an effective and useful nuance that can be useful in operating a heating system.
Many instructions write that the installation should be horizontal, but an angle of a couple of degrees will help get rid of air congestion and quickly remove from the radiator that has lingered in the system.
