Why, in some cases, a semi-automatic washing machine is more practical and better than an automatic one
Automatic devices seem to be preferable to many because of their autonomy and less human intervention in the work process. But there are times when it is semiautomatic devices or mechanisms with manual control that gain the advantage.
Washing machine-semi-automatic in the absence of running water
“There was a time - I was poor” - this is how you can characterize the period of my life after buying a house in which there was no running water, no hot water heating, not to mention the sewage system and other amenities. But nobody canceled clean clothes and bed, so it became necessary to purchase a washing machine.
Naturally, it is necessary to wash today, but running water is not expected even tomorrow. What to do? Of course, buying a car that can work in such conditions, that is, without automatic mode.
Choosing a semiautomatic washing machine
In order not to sink to the level of the middle of the 20th century, when the ultimate dream of Soviet housewives was a stainless steel "barrel" washer, in my family it was decided to buy something for the first time more modern.
Therefore, not so many requirements were put forward for the car:1. Wash in at least two modes without running water.
2. Squeeze out, that is, have the function of a centrifuge.
3. Be roomy.
Our choice fell on the "Nord XPB62-268S" model.
Specifications
The only parameter that can somehow characterize this washing machine is the maximum load mass. It is equal to 4.5 kg. This is not enough. Even, as it turned out, very, very much. For the size of the tank turns out to be very large and, accordingly, the same water consumption, which had to be carried in buckets, separately heated on a gas stove and poured inside.
Also, when draining, it was also necessary to carry a basin.
However, when running cold and hot water appeared, as well as sewage, the washing process became much easier.
That is, this machine is universal. It can be freely used even in the absence of basic amenities. This is the main advantage of such a washing machine.
And now to the disadvantages
As it turned out, the semi-automatic car has a lot of them:
1. A very high flow rate tank that requires a lot of water. In the absence of running water, a woman needs the help of a man or she needs a lot of physical strength, to carry buckets of cold water to the gas stove, and from there - with hot water, as well as to work "in mode" plum.
2. The centrifuge requires a neat, more or less uniform stacking of wet clothes and linen inside. For there is a strong vibration and a loud knocking. But for the sake of justice, it is worth noting that the spin is of high quality.
3. After each wash, you need to manually clean the removable plastic filter, knocking out dirt from it.
4. Hose and cable fixing hooks on the case are weak and break off quickly.
5. If the car is to be stored at subzero temperatures, then it was not possible to completely drain the water with a pump. You will have to tilt the washer in different directions to pour out the last grams.
But despite these shortcomings, my wife had only one complaint - high water consumption.
