Method for quick cleaning of sanding discs from adhering wood dust

Anyone who has worked with a tool with grinding wheels, belts knows that the sanding belt is clogged with wood dust with resin. This happens especially quickly if the tree was wet or resinous (many knots). And it seems that the sanding blade is still fresh, it has done very little work, the abrasive on it has not been ground off, but you have to change it to a new blade.

But, you see, for a piece of rubber, some unreasonable price. And is this material so effective in cleaning the emery cloth from plaque? It turns out that old hardened silicone from tubes with a sealant copes with this very effectively.

We take out from the tube. If it has not yet hardened at some edge, then let it ripen - we put off the opened tube for a day. On the working canvas, we touch with silicone and see how all the plaque disappears from the surface.

The same effect occurs when using soft rubber such as recycled crumb. How does this happen? The fact is that hardened silicone or soft rubber acts as a soft abrasive for the emery cloth. The material tears off wood deposits without destroying the abrasive itself or sticking to it. You can verify this in the video:
