Tomatoes with vodka are about soaking seeds
The highlight of my experience
Soaking seeds in vodka is not a new method. And there are videos on the Internet proving that vodka does not affect the germination of tomato seeds. But! These were experiments for the sake of experiments. From the series: we treated healthy people, they remained healthy.
I had seeds of 2014 (one variety of tomatoes). And it's 2021. Probably, the shell is dry and can prevent the sprout from hatching.
I read that from old seeds, if they germinate, the yield is greater. But how can we stimulate them? There were many ways. Stopped on melt water and vodka. Now about vodka
By the way, in the experiments that I saw, I did not like the fact that they took tap water, even with a smell of chlorine, and compared them. I have water from a well, we ourselves drink it from the tap.
Why vodka, why vodka
First the theory of what vodka seeds are for

Why do I consider the third point an advantage? Because most growth stimulants stimulate germination. According to my observations, after stimulation, we joyfully groom and cherish weakened plants that simply would not have sprung up due to weakness. These nursed slugs are the first to fall ill. Do we need it?
Therefore, I am now cautious about stimulation. And I choose only strong independent plants.
My specific experience
March 13 in the evening took Pink honey - good fresh seeds.
- 3 seeds soaked for 15 minutes in vodka, later washed in a glass of water and sown straight into the ground .
- Similarly, I sowed 3 dry seeds as usual.
The vodka softened the shell in 15 minutes so that it was scary to take the seeds in hand. If only it didn't hurt!
I did the same for the Alsou variety, seeds of 2014.
So, the result of the experience of the experiment with vodka
The first to climb March 17 Rose honey seeds, all in one day:
Maybe I damaged two other vodka seeds, they were very soft. It's good that one was not hurt. So, both "drunk" and sober seeds of Pink Honey sprouted in 4 days!
AND March 18 Alsou seeds emerged (2014!) in 5 days, almost simultaneously:
Obviously vodka didn't speed up anything in this case.
The missing third seed in a simple sowing might not germinate.
Findings:
- Vodka does not affect the germination of tomato seeds.
- And 2014 is not a verdict for good tomato seeds.
