The fence between sites often becomes a stumbling block. Disputes arise for one reason: to whom will the front side of the fence face - you or a neighbor? Practical versus aesthetic - what to choose? We bought a new duplex with a small plot. Last spring, it came to building a fence. It was necessary to decide with the neighbor where the front side would look: at me or at him.

First, I consulted with my wife. She, of course, spoke for the front side to us, motivating her choice with the aesthetic side of the issue. "It will be more beautiful this way!" - she said.

Then I went to talk to a neighbor. His words were as follows: “Let's make pillars in front of the house in one direction, and behind the house in the other. And where and how, it doesn't matter to me - let's throw a coin and decide! " I said that I would think about it and later announce my decision.

The decision was mine, because I paid for the fence. Rather, the neighbor had to give his half (14 thousand rubles) within three months and he did not take part in the construction. Here, as they say, whoever pays calls the tune.

My home is my castle

While I was pondering all the pros and cons of building a fence facing a neighbor, an idea occurred to me and it seemed to me the most correct! After all, my house is my fortress, and why will I leave pillars and logs outside, on which I can lean and calmly climb?

Indeed, the transverse bridges between the posts are a kind of "ladder" through which you can both look into my yard and easily climb over the fence. Why do I need it? I’m not fencing myself off so that it’s easy to get into my yard!

Then I drew attention to a certain feature of the fences. Many people put up a fence that goes, for example, into an alley, facing the courtyard. What is this for? For the sake of beauty? But from the side street you can look into the yard and climb over the fence.

And some even came up with an amazing design (I'm attaching a photo), how to make it very beautifully cheaply. They bring pillars and logs out into the street, decorate them with some kind of balls and paint them in a ceremonial golden color.

Perhaps this is aesthetically pleasing, but any rogue can easily jump over such a fence. So it is better to put the fence with the front side to the neighbor - and there are fewer conflicts, and it is safer for the house.

And the poles with jumpers will come in handy in your yard! In extreme cases, you can fasten clotheslines on them, tie up grapes or cucumbers.
