How to feed geraniums in spring so that it blooms violently and for a long time. 2 simple recipes that have recently been forgotten
Flaming fireworks, comrades indoor and garden florists! Today on the agenda is a topic with a contribution to the future.
Many of us have just trimmed our pelargoniums, and in the first place so far is the question of building not only a lush, but also a symmetrical, outwardly attractive crown. When this matter is over, the question comes to the fore in the dance of the spring cabaret on the windowsill: "How to feed geraniums so that it does not just bloom, but does it violently?"
And now we will not talk about standard mineral fertilizers applied according to the instructions. I hope all citizens understand that they support the development of the plant as a whole. Today I will talk about dressings aimed specifically at stimulating massive and long flowering.
Say a word about iodine for geranium
But before that, I can't help but mention iodine. If you have already tried the miracle remedy, were satisfied with the flowering and decided that the Great Secret of Top dressing has opened before you, then do not flatter yourself. Iodine solution has nothing to do with fertilization.
Remember the last time you scratched and smeared the abrasion with iodine. The roots of a plant feel about the same when a caring florist "feeds" them. And the release of buds is caused precisely by stress, and not by the needs of pelargonium for iodine, which appeared from nowhere with the spread of fake information on the Internet.
And yes. Watering with hydrogen peroxide, boiling water and other burning liquids works on the same principle. It is incomprehensible to the mind, not some even advise you to make a voodoo doll out of geranium, sticking the trunks with needles.
If you want to get bloom at any cost, please. Pelargonium will endure. But behind the popularization of miraculous means, comrade, remember about real dressings that stimulate flowering by providing pelargonium with the necessary substances for this. Here I also advise them to you.
Top dressing of pelargonium in the spring with a reserve for the future
If you have just rooted out your plant, then it is too early to stimulate flowering. Are your hands itching? Feed with nitrogen supplements. AND... make a contribution.
Contribution of superphosphate granules to the soil. Phosphorus, which makes geraniums give buds, is enough for the plant for a long time. Superphosphate will not dissolve immediately, and it will take time for the roots to assimilate. You will get a delayed, but very pleasant effect. I tried it - I liked it!
Comrade, do not scatter superphosphate over the surface of the earth. Make holes with something at a distance of 2-4 cm from the barrel (focus on the size of the pot so that the granules are approximately in the middle between the barrel and the sides of the dishes) and put 1-3 granules there. Gradually, under the influence of water, they will dissolve and do their good deed.
Feeding geraniums for flowering "Here and Now"
Great, let's simulate a different situation. An adult geranium is already there. Perhaps you needlessly regretted it or did not cut it. Or it was already cut off in February, and the sun bright in your region helped it grow decently by the end of March. What if you even use lamps?
Then at your service is potassium monophosphate, from which all flowers bloom, like mad. The secret is in a convenient composition, in which both potassium and phosphorus chew geranium, do not chew.
To get the effect as soon as possible, spray pelargonium with a solution of monophosphate. And exactly - 1 g per 1 liter of water. So that the hand does not dry out to interfere, first dissolve the crystals in a little water. Oh yes. If you are tormented by the question of how to measure this 1 g of monophosphate, but there are no scales: this is a quarter of a teaspoon.
Let me remind you that only healthy plants are fed and provided that they have enough light. Anything else is like kicking a trapped horse that has fallen to the side of the road.
