Coconut tablets are worse... Celery will tell you more precisely
I didn't want coconut pills, but I missed. I pressed the wrong button in the online store. I bought them instead of peat ones.
Or maybe they are good? Someone deliberately chooses them. I have Jiffy both peat and coconut tablets.
Checked it out. I sowed some root celery in peat tablets, a little in coconut tablets, and some in a regular glass.
Any tablets must be constantly watered, dry out. This is their disadvantage. But they take up so much less space on the windowsill that they are very happy.
Sowing
It happened on March 2. Variety Royal night. The seeds are quite large for celery, usually almost like dust. And these are about a millimeter in size, visual, and it is quite possible to take the seed with your fingers. I didn’t sprinkle it with earth, it’s not supposed to :) I was afraid that everyone would be “wearing hats”, but no, the result is decent.
Before the first shoots, the container with the crops was on a warm floor.
Why bother with celery in pills? Simplified the process :)
Picking out celery sprouts for picking is not the most pleasant task. Therefore, I relied on pills. Even in the planting cup I planned to leave one of the strongest sprout. He, as he knew, grew up in the middle :)
I show what happened:
findings
- There are shoots in all tablets, but some shoots have not taken off their hats, these are not tenants, you can sow.
- A strong sprout in a cup looks great. But the rest, there are many of them, much weaker, ascended quite recently.
- Coconut tablets inhibit seedlings somewhat. I will not leave such celery to grow in the garden. Grow up and eat.
- The most powerful plants in two peat tablets.
- 23 days after sowing, only five plants can be transplanted into cups, I will look at the rest. Most likely, I will grow five.
