A neighbor shared her secret of planting Peas, now I also have a gorgeous harvest. I hasten to share with you the way
For me, as well as for many gardeners, earlier summer is unthinkable without juicy green peas! But unfortunately, from year to year I collected it a little bit - barely enough for seasonal dishes, not to mention preservation!
The situation saved the situation - I got into a conversation with a neighbor and she shared some tricks about how to plant peas so that they bring a rich harvest. I tried it - everything worked out and I think you will be curious to know about it too!
Peas are considered to be a culture that is undemanding to the composition of the soil, however, on acidic it, no matter how much fertilizer is fed, good pods will not work!
Therefore, the gardener needs to know in advance the acidity level of the area allocated for the peas and, if necessary, carry out their liming. To do this, you can use, for example, dolomite flour - 350-400 g for each square meter of planting.
In addition, since autumn, when digging a garden, it is advisable to add generous fertilizers to the place of future pea beds, namely, add for each square meter:
25 g superphosphate;
15 g of potassium salt;
· 5 kg of compost or humus.
And just before planting the peas, it is imperative to sprinkle the ground with ash - this will save young plants from the risk of rotting and reduce the risk of their destruction by aphids!
The planting time of peas, in principle, is individual for different climatic zones and even varieties of this garden crop. But for optimal plant development and abundant fruiting, peas should be in the soil no earlier than it warms up to 8 degrees.
It is curious that our ancestors in this regard were guided by folk signs. For example, they expected frogs to croak and birch leaves to open.
The predecessors of culture also matter. This should not be neglected for the reason that unsuitable predecessors:
· Take nutrients necessary for peas from the soil;
· Are able to transmit many diseases and pests to peas.
Therefore, I recommend planting peas only after:
Pumpkins;
· Tomatoes;
· Cucumbers;
Beets;
· Potatoes;
· Carrots.
A neighbor revealed to me one more secret - pea shoots will appear exactly on time, that is, no later than 10 days for any variety, if, firstly, it is very thin, almost translucent, sprinkle with earth, and then add a layer of peat 2-3 thick on top cm.
