Versatile way to mount the drill horizontally or vertically
From time to time in everyday life there is a need to polish something with your own hands, but if there are no conditions and a special tool, the issue is postponed or solved elsewhere, but for money. However, in reality, everything is not so difficult, you just need to take a drill, equip it with a grinding attachment and fix it well on the table in the desired position.
You can even do without a table by taking a piece of wooden block more powerful for this. In my example I used bar 100x50 mm, about 80 cm long. The longer the bar, the more stable the structure and it is easier to hold it without using additional fasteners.
In addition to the bar, you still need to get a couple plumbing metal clamps, the size of which allows you to grip the drill in the narrowest places - near the chuck and on the handle. Inch clamps designed for the diameter of the circle fit under my drill 32-37 mm.
Studs for clamps can be included or selected separately, depending on specific tasks. I bought a pair separately studs 120 mm each.
The collars assembled and screwed onto the drill helped to make the markings for the holes. Hole diameter 4-5 mm. After drilling them, it only remained to screw in the clamps and fix the drill with screws.
With clamps of this size and this method of fastening, the only drawback is that the drill is not parallel to the bar. If it was wider or one of the clamps was larger, for example 100 mm in diameter, this would allow the drill to be positioned in any position.
A drill attached to a block can be used both on horizontal surfaces and on vertical ones, only additional fixation is required. You can even mount the clamps directly on the vertical wall and then nothing else is needed.
In my case, you can not hold a bar with a drill at all, grab it with a self-tapping screw to some table, or step on it and hold it with your foot. In general, you can choose the position of the drill for grinding based on the tasks and conditions, and use it in an apartment on a table, on a balcony, on a brick wall, on the ground or even on a concrete floor. Here's a simple idea.
