Looked at the sale of beautiful new dahlias. There are very good rhizomes at low prices

Dahlia are one of my favorite flowers. They remind me of my childhood, a joyful time when everyone was alive, happy and did not think with fear about tomorrow. My mother raised dozens of varieties of dahlias, so in August there was a fabulous beauty around the house from an incredible variety of shades and shapes.

Unfortunately, I was not able to save my mother's collection, only three rhizomes remained of it. But they are also incredibly beautiful. For example, white dahlias with a pink tint with very large, up to 30 centimeters in diameter, flowers. I remember that my mother had her favorites, so I am glad that I managed to keep them.

Or a simple, modest lilac country dahlia that would grow even in drought and frost, so it is resistant to all floral troubles. Such in our city grows in almost every flower garden. But it blooms very profusely, so I'm not going to give it up, despite its simplicity.

Last year I decided to collect my collection of these unpretentious flowers. After all, the main problem when growing dahlias is that they need to be dug up and stored in a cool dry place all winter. But for me this is no longer a problem, we have moved into our own house and we have a large basement where dahlias can perfectly winter.

And so, in the shopping center Castorama, I began to buy little by little new items for my flower garden. And the choice there is simply huge, I want to buy everything at once. But the prices are very biting, so I expect to buy 2-3 roots for the 2021 season.

The problem is that the rhizomes, of course, are very dry, the buds are not yet visible on them. Therefore, there is no reason to hope that a powerful peduncle will grow, seated with flowers. This year, the main task is to bring up a good, healthy and powerful tuber. And in a year he will give many flowers.

I really liked the Dahlia Tartan. It is a large, dark plum-colored flower with white tips. There is nothing like this in my small collection. I looked in the box and found a good quality root with three tubers firmly attached to the stem. And this was my first purchase.

For a long time I could not find the second dahlia Helium, which I liked. All tubers were very weak and withered. Finally, I found it at the very bottom of the box. A very decent tuber. I hope there will be kidneys on it.

The flower itself is bright yellow, and petals with a thin red edging open from the center. This is so wonderful that I could not refuse to buy, although it is very expensive - 225 rubles.

And my third dahlia is a semi-cactus flower with pink petals below and from the center, opening with bright yellow petals. It looks just amazing, I have never seen such a wonderful plant in anyone.

It is very simple to grow dahlias - dig a hole, throw humus, ash and superphosphate there, place a dahlia, bury it to the level of the stem and water it so that there is no air at the roots. After that, it will be enough to water, and if they grow very tall, tie it to a support so that it does not break with the wind.

But in the fall you need to wait until the first frost picks them up. After that, immediately dig it up, dry it in a draft and put it in the basement.
