Looking to get a lot of Big Peppers this year? I tell you step by step how I form it and get a Record harvest
Sweet peppers are loved and grown by many gardeners. It not only tastes good, but also provides the human body with many vital vitamins and minerals.
Everyone is trying to get a good harvest of large peppers. To do this, plants are watered, fed, protected from pest damage. This will, of course, have a positive effect.
But I will share my experience, how I have been getting a record harvest of pepper for 3 years now. An important and necessary technique is the formation of pepper bushes. This will increase the yield and increase the size of the pepper.
Formation of pepper in the open field
The need for the formation of bushes depends on the selected varieties of pepper. So:
· Tall species of pepper and hybrid varieties are subject to formation;
· Medium-sized varieties need to remove infertile and lower shoots. This will provide the plants with good lighting and ventilation;
· Undersized types of pepper do not require the formation of bushes.
Formation is not a one-time circumcision. It consists of several sequential stages:
· When the pepper bush gets stronger and reaches a height of 27-30 cm, remove the first buds. Also, remove the buds from the side shoots. Thanks to this, additional shoots will begin to appear and grow, and the plant will begin to bush;
· In the future, the formation of shoots is the same. There should be no more than 5 processes;
· On the main trunk, remove the leaves up to the first fork;
· When you have enough peppers on the bushes, you should prune the skeletal branches at the point of their growth;
· The final stage of formation falls on time - 1-1.5 months before the end of fruiting.
It is important to know that you need to disinfect the tool with which you will be cutting. To do this, use alcohol or chlorine-based products. Perform the pruning procedure in dry weather so that the cut can dry quickly. Wet and rainy weather can contribute to plant infestation.
The formation process is stressful for the plant. Therefore, after such a procedure, the pepper needs proper and thorough care. I tie the bushes to the supports so that the stems do not break under the weight of the fruits, I spray the bushes, water them early in the morning or late in the evening.
Using my advice, you will correctly form the bushes of pepper, and you will get a good harvest of high-quality large fruits of juicy and tasty peppers.
