Which is the best cross broiler to choose.

Broilers are hybrids formed by crossing some crosses of chickens. They have absorbed all the positive characteristics of these breeds, which are not inherited.

Because of this, broilers should not be expected to produce offspring. To raise broilers on your own, you can use 4 popular breeds.

Ross-308
Refers to early maturing batch breeds. Broilers are characterized by pale skin, white feathers and a deep red ridge.

Their distinctive feature is their rounded body shape and rapid growth, over 60 days. During this time, chickens weigh up to 2.5 kg. It does not make sense to keep them for a longer time, because the weight will not grow, and if it does, it will be very slow.

However, broilers will consume the same amount of food.
Many breeds are characterized by the presence of the dwarf gene, because they were bred for industrial cultivation.

In the conditions of poultry farms, chickens are allowed to slaughter as soon as they gain weight one or one and a half kilograms. Carcasses of this mass are most preferred by buyers in retail outlets.

The presence of the dwarf gene will prevent a broiler from growing, no matter how much food is fed to it.

Cobb-500
Broilers belonging to this breed are characterized by the presence of yellow skin. This allows the carcass to look more attractive, like with "fat". Because of this, they are more popular than Ross-308.

Broilers are characterized by white feathers and a small red comb. They differ in their elongated body shape when compared with Ross - 308.

In about 45 days, broilers reach 2.5 kg. This period is most suitable for slaughter. Since the breed belongs to portioned ones, after two months the chickens gain weight slowly.

Arbor Aycres
Broilers of this breed are characterized by white feathers, strong angular body, short yellow legs. The skin also has a yellowish tint.

The size of the thoracic region in birds belonging to this cross is much larger than in the rest. A bird of 60-70 days can gain weight up to 6 kg, but more often they gain 4-4.5 kg.

This breed is characterized by a significant problem - the chickens "sit down" because the legs do not keep pace with the rapid growth of the body and cease to function normally.

Raising chickens of this breed for more than 2.5 months is not profitable, because there is no weight gain.

Hubbard
The birds of this cross are the largest. They are characterized by the presence of white feathers, pink comb, yellowish legs and skin. The body shape of birds is similar to ordinary chickens, only of greater size.

The main advantage of this breed is that it is characterized by the absence of a dwarf gene. Thanks to this, Hubbards can grow up to 7-9 kg, their development does not slow down after 2 months. Their average weight is 5-6 kg.
