I tell you why I do not advise watering the seeds after sowing

Since our family became the owner of a suburban area, I have become a real gardener. Buying various seeds with confidence, I imagined how soon everyone would be happy with the harvest from my beds.

What a surprise it was when I saw that the shoots of my neighbor were "spike" with might and main, and at that time only single shoots made their way. For advice I had to turn to the neighboring gardening "gurus".

What happens to the soil after watering

The soil, which is abundantly watered, is usually crusty when exposed to air and heat. It becomes a kind of "cocoon" that does not allow the plants to breathe freely and prevents them from going up. Also, moisture compacts the soil, loose dry soil begins to sag. Together with the earth, seeds go to the depths.

However, one of the rules for correct sowing is that the planting depth should not exceed 2-4 seed sizes. Watering the seeds right away, I grossly violated this rule and doomed my future harvest to death. The sprouts simply did not find the strength to overcome the great depth and break through the crust. And if the forces were, then in single copies.

How to water, so as not to harm

After all the explanations, I had a question - how then to properly moisturize the soil, because for full growth, moisture is vital for plants. I learned that watering should be done before planting.

The prepared dry soil is watered abundantly with warm water, after which it becomes denser and ready to accept new seeds. If watering was carried out with too hot water (boiling water), then it is necessary to wait at least 1 hour before planting.

Sometimes I had incidents - sometimes I forgot to water the ground first. In this case, it was recommended to spray the soil with a spray bottle. This method will be as gentle as possible, will not make the soil heavier and will provide the necessary moisture to the seeds.

If there is a need for additional watering (hot weather, too dry soil), then the following rules should be followed:

Use warm water, running from the tap or water from a well, to settle to room temperature,

The soil must be carefully sprayed so as not to harm or injure young shoots,

Observe moderation - a lack of moisture is better than an excess of it

The rules are quite easy, the main thing to remember is that by watering the seeds immediately after planting, by our own actions we leave them without strength to grow, tamping them in the ground. Now new crops bring me only positive emotions without remorse.
