Taboo foods for hypertension: what should not be eaten with high blood pressure
Hypertension is a disease that affects almost half of the adult population of Russia. It provokes the development of heart disease, leading to strokes, kidney disease, and in some cases, death. Complete, and most importantly, proper nutrition plays an important role in the treatment of this disease. I, like many people, had to change my life after I learned that I suffer from this disease.
Therapeutic diet
I began to move more, go out on foot more often, and also revised my diet and gave up many foods. I want to share my experience and advice with others, perhaps it will be useful for other hypertensive patients or for those who do not even suspect that the disease is just around the corner.
Ban on products
Hypertension is a serious disease in which it is necessary to completely abandon foods that lead to obesity and the formation of cholesterol. There are many of them.
Salt
Salt is an integral part of cooking, preserving, and baking bread. And at the same time, it is a product that affects blood pressure indicators.
I began to use all kinds of greens and lemon juice more.
Fatty, smoked, fried, fast food
I do not like fast food and I never eat fast food, but I really like smoked meats and fatty foods, especially potatoes fried in lard. Now, unfortunately, I have completely eliminated them from my diet.
Canned food
The technology for the production of canned food involves the use of a large amount of preservatives, and these are:
- vinegar;
- hot spices;
- fat;
- synthetic preservatives.
Therefore, canned food also dropped out of my diet. I eat fresh vegetables and fruits that I used to canned in the form of salads, pickles and jams.
Baking, confectionery
I really love sweets, cookies, buns and can eat a lot at a time without even noticing it. From here, probably, there was hypertension, excess weight, heart problems. Now, if I want something sweet, I eat dried fruits and can afford a little honey.
This is a natural, and most importantly, healthy alternative.
Cheese and semi-finished products
My family doctor recommends excluding salty, spicy and spicy hard cheeses from the diet, as well as all kinds of convenience foods containing hidden salt.
Spice
I gave up hot spices, sauces and ketchups, which also lead to increased blood circulation, which means increased blood pressure.
Spicy vegetables and legumes
Now there are no foods on my table that cause increased gas formation, which provokes an increase in blood pressure. These are soybeans, lentils, beans, peas, radishes, radishes, green onions.
Alcoholic drinks
In principle, I don’t use alcohol, so I didn’t have to deny myself something in this regard.
Diet restrictions
In addition to the products that I completely excluded, there are those that I have minimized consumption. This is red meat (I replaced it with fish and poultry), sugar, butter, white bread and pasta, black tea and coffee. Instead, I use honey, low-calorie bread, herbal tea, chicory.
