Is it possible to unscrew the rusty siphon bolt in the sink (2 ways)
Often there is a need to clean the sink or bathroom from the blockage. In this case, the water does not drain well and an unpleasant odor arises.
You can clear the blockage with a cable that is sold in any household. store. The plunger also sometimes helps out when the sink is clogged.
Someone advises using citric acid. Powder (100 g) is poured into the drain. A little boiling water is poured next. After half an hour, open hot water to complete the cleaning. Helps with uncomplicated blockage.
Cleaning of the siphon itself is often required.
It would seem that there is nothing easier to unscrew the connecting screw and clean. But from constant exposure to moisture, this metal part rusts and cannot be unscrewed.
Someone will say that a nut is made of brass in high-quality siphons so that it does not rust. Everything is correct. But not everyone has such details.
There is a variant with a "Vedashka". Just spray and wait a bit. Then try to unscrew. But in most cases this will fail. And why? You will still have to change the rusted parts. Especially when the thread is "licked".
1 way
You can take a 4 mm drill. and a drill. Drill the bolt in the middle about 4 mm. in depth. Then we take a drill bit 8 mm. and continue drilling. Do not press hard on the metal cover, otherwise break or squeeze out.
The bolt head will fall off and you can clean the siphon and replace the rusty parts with new ones. The thread and the metal part with 6 holes remain intact. It remains only to buy a stainless steel bolt and screw it into place.
2 way
There is an easier, faster way.
We take side cutters (nippers).
We bite off the metal around the bolt one by one. It turns out 6 jumpers. This is not difficult to do, since the metal is thin (they save on production). In the photo I will show you where to do it:
Then we change the metal cover for a new one and a nut, and the rest of the siphon remain intact.
