First, we throw these things into the trash can, and then we go to the store and buy a replacement for them for money - this is what we are talking about
After we moved to a private house, I got two bins in my kitchen for separate waste collection. Although in our village, of course, there is no question of separate collection of garbage. And, of course, he was not in the city apartment. It seems to me that in Russia this is, in general, from the realm of fantasy, until such a method has taken root.
In one bucket I collect plastic and other non-rotting garbage, and in the other I collect food waste. Then I take this waste into a compost heap, where it rotts well and serves for new crops.
But I never throw away several types of vegetable peels and egg shells. At the same time, I do not buy mineral and organic fertilizers, which are now very expensive, but replace them with these purifications.
1. Onion peel.
This most valuable substance, which is ruthlessly thrown into the trash, contains trace elements and protein fibers. They serve as a stimulant for hair growth, strengthen hair follicles and make the scalp healthy. Therefore, you do not need to use commercial hair rinses. Boil the onion peel with boiling water, let it brew until it cools down and pour this broth over your head after shampooing. After 4-5 sessions, you will feel the result.
In addition, onion skins are an excellent fertilizer for nightshade crops. A handful of dry husks when transplanted into a hole for tomatoes or peppers will scare away pests and give plants a new energy boost.
I hope everyone remembers that eggs boiled with onion skins are the most environmentally friendly, healthy and traditional way to color them for Easter.
That is why onion husks are not thrown away, but accumulated in a tissue bag for use as needed.
2. Orange peels.
For me, of course, the main way to use orange peels is to dry them, grind them in a coffee grinder, sift them through a strainer and mix such flour with the simplest face cream.
The result is a gorgeous scrub that gently cleans the top layer of the skin.
It is a source of vitamins and minerals. I use it in the bath all year round. And what a smell is from him - just a miracle!
3. Potato peelings.
This is the best fertilizer for currants. Under all the bushes, in the spring I have heaps of cleanings, which I then embed in the soil when loosening.
Currants respond very well to such fertilization - the berries become sweeter and the bush grows healthier.
4. Banana peels.
Insisting them in water under a lid for 3 days and feeding indoor flowers is the best use for such garbage.
Plants in the apartment will respond to such feeding with gorgeous foliage and abundant flowering. And no commercial mineral fertilizers are needed - just water them with banana tincture once every 2 weeks.
5. Eggshell.
After drying and grinding the eggshells, it can be used as an additive to feed for poultry, especially for egg-bearing breeds. It serves as a source of calcium, which, of course, chickens consume. Also, eggshell tincture is a fertilizer for plants.
Crushed shells are added to the holes when planting vegetables to deoxidize the soil.
This is how seemingly unnecessary garbage is used. And how much money will he save to zealous housewives!
