You may have never seen such use of used water in household chores! 6 awesome examples
Today many people know about the processing of glass, plastic, metal and paper! After all, it is impossible not to see advertisements on TV (about ecology and saving natural resources), video speeches some eco-activist Greta Thunberg or not to come across tanks of separate waste, which are practically in all yards! At the same time, for some reason, only a few know about the repeated use of the most valuable resource of mankind - water.
Good afternoon dear friends
For example, did you know that the water that you previously used when preparing food has a number of beneficial properties? Not? And what am I talking about! But in fact, its secondary use can replace both fertilizers and household chemicals, and even cosmetics. Therefore, I propose to take a closer look at used water and try to use it as wisely as possible, and not just pour it into the sink immediately after cooking.
And so in order to do this, and even for the benefit of my home, and hence the family budget, I selected 6 amazing examples of ordinary water recycling.
1.Weed control. Don't want to use harmful chemicals to kill weeds in your garden or summer cottage? No problem! Use used potato or boiled pasta water.
To do this, the water in which the potatoes were boiled must be cooled and poured into a bottle with a spray bottle, and then the weeds must be sprayed. But cold water from pasta will be enough just to pour between the beds or on the path lined with paving slabs. Repeat this procedure periodically during the summer and you will immediately notice that there is much less weeding work.
2."Potion" that removes stains. Removing stains and whitening things can be a big problem if you have allergies in your family. Here one cannot do without serious expenses for "environmentally friendly" chemistry. But you can try and save a little by simply using the water in which the white beans were previously cooked.
You just need to use unsalted water. It is this liquid that is a good stain remover. And allows you to remove stains on woolen, cotton or silk clothing.
3."Fertilizer" for indoor plants. It's no secret that vegetables contain a lot of nutrients and minerals. So, some of them always remain in water during cooking. Therefore, if you want to get an excellent natural fertilizer, then first cool down the water in which vegetables were previously cooked, and then pour it on indoor plants (gerberas, ficus ...). Again, the main thing is not to add salt when cooking.
The same thing happens when boiling eggs. A lot of calcium gets into the water from the shell. For plants, this is an excellent top dressing.
4.Home cosmetics. Oh yes, you heard right! Even in ancient Korea, women used rice water for hair care. Thanks to the starch it contains, it gives their hair shine, elasticity and a healthy look.
All you need to do is boil the rice, drain the water, wait until it cools down to 40-50 ° C, and then rinse your hair with it. Then after five minutes, rinse again, but this time with clean water.
5.Silver cleaner. Not only baking soda, vinegar and toothpaste can help you remove blackness from silver. It turns out that water that boiled sorrel, rhubarb or spinach can also make battered silver shine like new. It is enough just to moisten a cloth with it, and then rub the silver.
By the way, potato water does an excellent job with this task. To do this, pour it into a container or another saucepan, place silver cutlery inside for a few minutes, and then remove them and wipe them. Actually, that's all the manipulation.
6.Fragrant "seasoning". Did you know that the water in which mushrooms were previously cooked can be used as a "seasoning"? No, but in vain! Indeed, during their preparation, part of the mushroom taste and aroma passes into the broth. It is this liquid supplement that will go great with meat, chicken or pasta.
By the way, such a "broth" is useful in the manufacture of various sauces. It is enough just to turn to the all-knowing Yandex or Alice for a recipe!
