Heat accumulator at night rate from Europe: how does it work?

click fraud protection

In this article, I will introduce readers to such a device as a storage heater. It is produced by many manufacturers, and the name of the device itself is translated as "heat accumulator" or "heat accumulator".

But unlike the Russian systems with the same name, a buffer tank for water is not used in Europe. And no water is used in the strorage heater either. The principle of operation here is completely different.

The storage heater contains magnesite bricks and heating elements, which overnight (at a cheap night rate) heat the bricks to 650 degrees. The body of the device itself is two-layer, and there is a small flap on top. This damper regulates the supply of warm air to the house.

What are the advantages?

  • per night, the device collects in bricks from 10 to 20 kW * h of heat!
  • this heat is enough to not turn on the heating in the daytime;
  • bottlenecks in the system - heating elements and a damper, there is nothing more to break there;

As the man says in the video, he does not turn on the heating at all during the day: the heat accumulated during the night is enough to heat the house and in the daytime.

By the way, who hasn't watched the video, the device itself looks like this:

It looks like a pot-bellied convector that is connected to a single-phase or three-phase network and stores heat.

This is a real find for those who do not want or cannot do water heating in the house. For example, in my wooden house the floors are wooden, and I will not make a liquid heat-insulated floor. And there is nowhere to put the boiler for water.

I regret that the only plant in Russia (N. Tagil), where heat accumulators were manufactured under a German license, has closed. And it is quite expensive to carry them from abroad: at least 60 thousand rubles comes out. At this price, one heat storage unit will pay off in about 5 years.

The service life is promised for 10 years.
That is, for the remaining five years, you will still heat the house "in a plus".

So if you have relatives abroad (especially in geographically close Estonia, Poland, Latvia), ask them: can they bring such a device to the Russian Federation by car? I would be grateful for the answers in the comments!
