Learned all the secrets of slaves with HDPE pipes. I'm talking about the important nuances that came out in the work.
Even in such a seemingly simple matter, there are many subtleties. But everything opens only when you twist it, then unscrew it, then again twist more than a dozen fittings.
Friends, greetings to all. The construction of my house is moving forward. And now I have concentrated all my efforts on organizing water supply.
I have already written several articles about how I am trying to adapt dirty water from a depth of 4 meters for future living in the house. all materials on my channel, come in.
In doing so, I get a lot of new experiences.
Among all the global things (such as manual hydrodrilling, and chemical water treatment), there are some commonplace things. But even here, this is my first experience and everything is new.
Working with HDPE pipes is one example.
Of course, there is nothing special and difficult in cutting off a pipe of the required length, and then properly dressing and screwing on any fitting. But there are peculiarities, as in any work.
✔ A gas burner is indispensable.
When you unpack a bay with a pipe, it still retains its ring shape. And you just won't be able to straighten it.❗ It's good when in the summer you can throw everything in the sun, after which the pipe becomes pliable. But in winter, only fire can help out.
A conventional gas burner is the best solution.
✔ Wrench for fittings. A strange thing at first glance, but very useful.
With the help of it, the required tightening torque is made. At the same time, a reliable connection is obtained, and there is no risk of stripping the thread and breaking the fitting.
The only thing is that plastic does not last forever... I have already taken the second key, since the first one has worn off the hook. But it is also surprising that it served for a long time and did not break.
✔ Large selection of fittings, gives freedom of action. Various adapters allow you to combine and adapt to the situation.
✅ And here it is better to select the elements more carefully, since the choice is really large. This will reduce the volume of connections, and costs ...
There are already whole labyrinths of HDPE pipes in my basement.
