In the first decade of May, the following activities should be carried out. Some early varieties may already bloom or grow in buds. At this time, you need to pay great attention to feeding.

It is required to apply fertilizers that contain a full complex of NPK with a predominance of nitrogen in order to establish a rich strawberry harvest. It needs to be fed correctly and on time, otherwise the result will be completely different from what was expected.

Mineral fertilizers

You will need 15 grams of nitroammofoska (or 10 grams of ammonium nitrate), the fertilizer must be dissolved in a bucket of water. This mixture must be poured over strawberries (one bush will need 0.5 liters of solution).

Organic

1. Infusion of herbs. Strawberries love feeding in the form of green fertilizer (herb infusion). This is a folk organic fertilizer that gives good results. It's pretty easy to make. For this you need to take any container and fill it with grass (it is better to take dandelions and nettles), weeds from the garden.

Then the container should be filled with water, cover the contents with a lid on top, leave the mixture to ferment for 6-7 days. Every 3 days, stir the mixture with a stick to release gases during fermentation.

When the fertilizer is ready, it should be diluted 1 to 10 when feeding strawberries (1 liter of concentrate per 10 liters of water). Green fertilizer is considered a versatile fertilizer, so it can be used with other plants as well. The herb infusion can be called a nitrogen fertilizer, so it is better to apply it before the flowering of berry bushes.

2. Chicken droppings. Another fertilizer that gardeners and gardeners often use on strawberries. It cannot be used fresh.

To prepare chicken infusion, you need to dilute the droppings in water in a ratio of 1 to 20, wait a week. Then the finished formula must be diluted 1 to 1. You must first water the planting with water.

Ash

It is a natural mineral fertilizer that is considered effective and affordable. It is required to take 0.5 liters of ash and dilute it in 10 liters of water. Mix everything thoroughly, fertilize the bushes with an ash solution. You can feed strawberries with ash every 10-14 days.

Chicken droppings can be purchased in pellets at the gardening store, and wood ash is also sold there.
