Hair catcher for the bathroom: 3 plumbing life hacks - the drain is always clean
I have no problems with blockages. As soon as I see that the water leaves more slowly than usual, I use household chemicals ("mole" and other analogues). It helps great. But a familiar plumber shared a different experience. He often meets (at work, of course) long-haired beauties, for whom a sink clogged with hair is a big problem.
An acquaintance, by the way, does a good job on clients with a similar problem. First cleans the sewer (not free, of course). Then he sells factory traps for removing hair from the sewer: Cinderella, Domochist, etc. A margin of 500% or more. But out of friendship, he suggested solutions that are much cheaper and easier.
The easiest hair catcher
This method will help if the problem is not acute. For example, for a husband to wash his hair, it is enough to put a gloss on the bald head with a damp cloth. Except for the wife with long hair, there is no one else in the house. No mother-in-law, mother-in-law, daughters or other long-haired animals. We put the usual mesh for the sink on the sewer drain. There are plenty of them on sale now and cost a penny. The smaller the holes in the mesh, the better.
A hair catcher that tackles almost any situation
This method is suitable if the sewer drain in the bathtub is often clogged and you are fed up with cleaning it.
Take regular nylon cable ties (wider and longer is better) and a ring (for example, from keys). We put several ties on the ring. The quantity can be taken according to the number of holes in the plumbing drain.
With a clerical knife, we make notches along the entire length of the screed. You should get a "catcher brush" for which the hair will cling to the drain of the sewer.
It remains to insert all these "brushes" into the holes of the sewer drain and periodically take them out with the hair.
Option for the most extreme conditions
Frankly, I don’t know what the conditions should be so that the previous version of the catcher would not cope with them. Perhaps the whole family should have a "molt" at the same time. However, the plumber said that some of the splendid... haired girls praise this particular version of the trap.
You will need a regular plastic bottle and scissors.
We cut strips of plastic with a width of about 1.5-2 times wider than the drain holes in the sewer siphon. After that, we make cuts with scissors. It turns out a one-sided "herringbone". But the serifs on it only open during bending. To fix this, hold such a plastic strip for a few seconds over the fire. The "Christmas tree" has very "evil" needles (see the photo on the left).
We lower such traps into the drain plug of the bath. We get it from time to time. All (or almost all) hair remains on them. The drain always remains clean.
